More Video From The JCC Candidate Forum

Filed in National by on September 21, 2010

The News Journal posts more videos from the candidate forum. Part 1 of the debate is posted here.

Both Coons & O’Donnell speak on oil dependency. Coons supports alternative energy. O’Donnell says she supports alternative energy then contradicts herself

Both candidates speak on abortion. This was Coons’s strongest answers. He got a huge cheer in the overflow room when he answered. O’Donnell says she’s pro-life then says her sister had to have an abortion to save her life. It looks like the video cut off O’Donnell’s answer about supporting snowflake babies. Like most of her other answers O’Donnell is all over the place here.

Christine O’Donnell does not want to privatize social security, she seems to support Al Gore’s “lock box” and comments that we can raise the retirement age because Valerie Bertinelli appeared on the cover of AARP. Coons comments that privatization would be a disaster and speaks on the positive role that government can play.

On the education question O’Donnell supports charter school and says children shouldn’t be trapped in failing school systems. Coons expresses support for RTTT.

Hopefully the NJ will also release more video from the forum, especially the House candidates. You really should see Urquhart in action.

I wonder who owns rights to this video, and who shot it?

Notice the NJ is keeping strict control over it. It is streamed by Brightcove, which is designed to be difficult to save on your computer. Does the JCC have anything to say about this?

Guaranteed this video will not be available via the NJ by the time the next election cycle rolls around. It is ripe to be deadlinked by the News Journal and fall into the Delaware Memory Hole.

  2. I’m not sure anon. WDEL was also there recording but they haven’t released the video either. I really wish we could get at least the audio. If you didn’t hear Urquhart, you need to.

the huge cheer in the overflow room to the abortion question was partially me and my folks. There were a couple of tools who also tried to boo through that answer. I really liked the emphasis on settled legal precedent.

  4. Video from JCC forum can also be found at whyy.org/delaware

    Carney/Urquhart video will be soon.

She’s reading from a prepared statement for God’s sake. Is this what the Tea Party is selling us a candidate with no brains? Was she too busy doing her laundry to prepare for the debate?

  6. Perry says:

I think you DL folks would be interested in this post by Delawarean Michael Melloy (Repub) on a conservative blog that I frequent. It is an eye opener on Christine’s current campaign finance situation!

  7. Marc says:

I believe she will not spend most of her money. She is not trying to win, and never was. And how much of the Primary ads were her spending, probably very little.

I actually think it is a good thing. Let her rip off her donors and make the tea party a laughing stock.

The Tea Party does not think and just endorses anyone. Well she will prove to the typhoid mary of the cause, and do peranenent damage to all who have touched her. So you go girl

Great link, Perry. DL moderators: Comment rescue is in order! And I don’t use exclamation points lightly!
