As I Predicted, Rendell Gets NBC Gig

Filed in National by on January 25, 2011

Yep, COMCAST is staying out of all programming decisions for NBC. As I predicted, the Peacock has hired former Pa. Gov. Ed Rendell (D-COMCAST) as its newest ‘political analyst’.

One thing is assured by this choice, and that’s that nowhere will be heard a discouraging word about COMCAST. How do I know this? Because we have yet another breaking news story from Evil Incarnate, aka COMCAST. That’s right, Fa(s)t Eddie is coming back for another season on Eagles Post-Game Live on the (wait for it) COMCAST Sports Network. Sometimes, I hate being right.

And, for those of you questioning whether I actually predicted this, here it is from UI’s Keith Olbermann thread:

This is what happens when the oligarchs own and control the media. How soon until the debut of the Ed Rendell Show on MSNBC? After all, the ‘Guv’ already appears on Eagles Post-Game Live on, uh, Comcast Sports Net. I’m sure it has nothing to do with the way Rendell kissed Comcast’s butt as Guv.

I hate being a total pessimist, but the quote I keep coming back to is from a Leonard Cohen song:

“Everybody knows that the dice are loaded, everybody rolls with their fingers crossed

Everybody knows that the war is over, everybody knows the good guys lost.”

  1. Newshound says:

This was not a prediction, but a mere inevitability. Rendell appeared on MSNBC nearly twice per/week (Morning Joe, Chris Matthews, etc.) for over a year.

His style of opinion and politics (and his ‘connections’) sealed an inevitable fate.

Btw, they’d hire Arianna Huffington too, but her accent is too strong, which turns viewers off.

  2. You’re right. Rendell’s dulcet tones are a tonic to the ears.
