Woman Who Attacked My Favorite Gauguin Painting Hates Homos

Filed in National by on April 6, 2011

I know that having “Two Tahitian Women” as one’s favorite Gauguin panting is like having “Starry Night” as one’s favorite Van Gogh painting, or “Water Lilies” as your favorite Monet painting, but some visual cliches are visual cliches because THEY ARE AWESOME!! AMIRIGHT?

Anyway, art appreciation aside, this women is no doubt a teabagger and Republican.

She hated this painting…

…because:

…Gaugin is evil. He has nudity and is bad for children. He has two women in the painting and it is very homosexual. I was trying to remove it. I think it should be burned.”

She is also from the CIA, has a radio in her head, and thinks Bristol Palin is a great advocate for teenage abstinence.

(I’m guessing on that last one.)

  1. Delaware Dem says:

And this teabagger should be jailed for her crimes and sued for any damages. Time for some consequences for the Teabagger crowd.

  2. pandora says:

I love that painting, too. She’s nuts, otherwise known as the Tea Party’s foot soldiers. 🙂

  3. skippertee says:

Gaugin caught the faces, he failed in perspective in catching their lithe fore-arms.
I don’t know what he was going for here.
    I do love the painting.
He saw the Polynesian dances with the hands telling stories himself.
As an early Euro-Trash ass-hole he failed to inform the people he was painting for of the HISTORY behind the image.

  4. jason330 says:

Skippertee just made me love the painting even MORE! I had no idea that was even possible.

  5. skippertee says:

As U-2 said in “Beautiful Day”: “Teach me, I’m not a hopeless case”.
    And that includes me.

“Two Tahitian Women”? How about “Three Titties and a Pan of Cherries”? (Where’s Marlon Brando when we need him?)

  7. Dorian Gray says:

I’d love to pile on but this woman is clearly just deranged. I’m sure there are liberals in asylums as well. By the way, my favorite Van Gogh is The Postman and it’s at the Barnes… It was better than everything I saw of his in Amsterdam. I don’t dig on Monet… I wonder what she thinks of the Renoir nudes?

  8. Jason330 says:

There was a time that you could tell the deranged from the yeoman Republican by their rhetoric. Those days are gone. Modern Republicanism has obliterated the line.

  9. liberalgeek says:

I think the point is that this woman is becoming “the base”.

My favorite van Gogh is “A Bridge in the Rain” which looks like a Japanese painting.

  10. Delaware Dem says:

Dorian… the point is you can no longer distinguish between the ravings of a deranged lunatic and a sentence in the Republican platform.

  11. Von Cracker says:

For you two, Dorian and Jason…Two for one

And yes, that woman is clearly insane and probably a conservative warped-Jesus freak.

For these days, clearly a moderate Republican.
