Tuesday Open Thread [2.19.13]

Three major labor unions in Delaware, the AFL-CIO, the Delaware Building and Construction Trades Counsel and the Delaware Public Employees Council 81-AFSCME, have endorsed marriage equality and are lobbying the General Assembly to pass the bill this session.

So the chief achievement of Senator Tom Carper’s entire lengthy career in politics, the establishment of a National Park in Delaware, is nigh. That this is his chief achievement, and that I am still confused as to what will constitute this so-called “National Park” speaks volumes.

    The firefly festival looks fun. I’m too old though. I didn’t know they were scrolling the band names until a minute and 20 seconds in.

    I don’t see how Marriage Equality doesn’t pass.

    Despite all the rancor from DE’s “Sanctity of Marriage” crowd over civil unions, I can’t think of one serious negative mailer about a “yes” vote.

    At this point, it’s not standing up for what’s right, it’s standing up for common sense.

    Just to show you how this has grown, Firefly is Tom Petty’s second concert signup and he will be here one week after Bonnoroo… What is Bonnoroo you ask?

    Oh, my…

    But this puts Firefly up in contention for being included in the top three music festivals in the US… Not shabby for the second smallest state.
