Our Platform is Revenge

Filed in National by on August 9, 2022

The FBI seizure of evidence at the loser’s shithole palace has the GOP and the GOP’s propaganda arm popping off and vowing revenge. It all sounds very “Banana Republic” to me.

Ingraham: “When we get power back, it’s time to hold everyone accountable.. the military leadership, the civilian leadership, the civil service, those in Congress who have abused their power”

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy: “When Republicans take back the House, we will conduct immediate oversight of this department, follow the facts, and leave no stone unturned,” McCarthy tweeted. “Attorney General Garland, preserve your documents and clear your calendar.”

And it’s a universal threat fest, and this time they intend to attack everything and anything. This is not new, the Republicans declared war on the rest of us decades ago. Also as usual they’ve declared victory before the voting even starts and have promised themselves unlimited power. We shall see.

I really want to see the Republicans run for the midterms on a strict revenge platform. It will go over like an abortion ban in Kansas.

Republicans are doing what they do best — fulminating without taking any action. By all means let them advertise what they intend to do, and let’s see if a majority wants to be dragged through more of their childish bullshit for another two years. I’ma guess not.

The right-wing noise machine is what it is, and lots of those mooks will be out of jobs once Republicans are discredited once and for all, so of course they’re scared.

But the long-term GOP insiders are also relieved. The senators are going along with it because they don’t want to be the one the snake bites in its death throes — remember, they all disliked Trump before they were forced to grovel. Appearances to the contrary, nobody, not even Ted Cruz or Lindsey Graham, likes groveling. They say what they must now, but once they find a new standard-bearer they’ll drop Trump like a used diaper.

So for now they’ll fulminate, and probably follow Trump’s lead in trying to fund-raise off of it.
