Activist Supreme Court seem to side with website designer who doesn’t want to work with teh gays

How do these cases keep coming up?  Typically when I find out that some small business is owned/run by raging conservative assholes, I spend my money elsewhere.

The woman who bragged about the power going out in Moore County in protest of a drag show has a bit of a history. And yep, it’s pretty much what you’d expect

Speaking of explosions…Putin is forcing Ukraine to innovate.

Two separate Russian airbases, two totally coincidental explosions. Ukraine whistling quietly

  1. Trump Pays Off Witnesses Scheduled To Testify Against Him:

More accurately, one of his PACs, funded by the rubes, is paying off witnesses and their attorneys.

There is a good piece on this bogus Supreme Court case on the Mobilize to End Voter Suppression FB page. I could not share because you have to join the group to see their posts. This case is hypothetical and completely manufactured by the religious right. Court should have never accepted this for consideration. See news coverage especially for Alito’s disgusting comments.

      It’s a very selective mobilization.

Read Alito’s comments, disgusting indeed, that and the court is in the hands of the far right Evangelicals. Knew in advance that religion and the corporations will win every time, same for the haters of the LGBT community. This is a rogue and very activist court, admit I’m a long time hater of the court and see little hope that the court will be brought to heel in my lifetime, and actual reform but a distant dream.

I think you have to edit your comment to say “christianity and corporations” because that is the only religion focused on reducing rights

WTF does it mean when an “organization” is guilty of criminal charges? Who goes to jail?

    • Andrew C says:

Nobody. Just a fine and making it a virtual impossibility to do business in New York again. It would have ben challenging to charge a person with those kinds of infractions, so a much easier trial was exactly this. The prosecution knew it could be done pretty quickly and get easy jury verdicts, and that’s just what happened.

But more importantly, as former federal prosecutor Renato Mariotti wrote — https://twitter.com/renato_mariotti/status/1600232933326921728 — “This will give even more leverage to New York Attorney General Tish James in her civil suit, which seeks extraordinary remedies that would cripple the company.” That’s coming next.
