Add hypocrite to Castle’s resume.

Vice President Joe Biden returned to his home state of Delaware today to speak about the importance of renewing the nation’s infrastructure through rail transportation and offshore wind power.
Beginning his day in Wilmington, Biden launched the kickoff event for the restoration of the Wilmington Train Station, a historical landmark designed by architect Frank Furness in 1907.

Gov. Jack Markell, Sens. Tom Carper and Ted Kaufman and Rep. Mike Castle joined Biden to celebrate the restoration project.

How does somebody vote in lockstep with the obstructionist Republicans and oppose the President’s economic recovery agenda have the nerve to show up at the AMTRAK station event to try and grab some of the recovery spotlight?

Astounding.

  1. I’m sure he thinks nobody will remember by the time election season comes around. It’s up to us to make sure that his anti-stimulus votes are remembered.

  2. John Manifold says:

Excellent catch, Jason. This framing will be important if Castle tries to run.

  3. David says:

Not really that great a catch. The stimulus infrastructure programs were already approved. Castle was not an opponent of the program but a supporter. The legislative process is a little more complicated.

  4. pandora says:

What part of Castle’s “no” vote didn’t you understand? And, let’s face it, Republicans – including Castle – were hardly nuanced in their vote. They weren’t praising certain parts of the stimulus. Their message was: Stimulus = Bad.

    And the message was received.

David is batting a thousand. Castle was the kind of supporter that votes “NO!” because John Bohener told him to.
