The Non-Partisan Garrett Wozniak to Address Sussex GOP
The featured speaker at the next meeting of the Sussex County Republicans will be the supposedly nonpartisan Caesar Rodney Institute Policy Director Garrett Wozniak. I guess they finally gave up that ghost.

DD, you and “JusttheFacts” connected? That took no time for a new post and comment to come up that quickly.
On an aside, to constantly be this blog’s fly in your ointment on this topic, everyone knows that Garrett is a Republican and he makes no secret that he is. Your headline is misleading, although I believe you meant it to be a shot at CRI moreso than anything or anyone else.
I just checked the ip and no — this is not DD or anyone else associated with Delaware Liberal. It’s not Jason330 either!
Sorry RSmitty, I have no idea who “JTF” is.
Sorry, I honestly wasn’t trying to imply it was the DD man himself, but a compadre or something similar. The rapid comment-to-post relation was a ‘wow’ factor.
I was busy trying to resize Garrett’s picture. I didn’t notice how fast the comment was.
NP, RSmitty, if you thought there was a connection, other people would as well. Better to nip it in the bud.
They gave up GREAT CAESAR’S GHOST?
lolololololololololololol
No, not DD. Last I checked.
Eh. It was just that the comment was slapped on here faster than a bag-o-nuts© legislator can apologize to Rush. No biggie, just noticing.
It is an obvious cut and past job from the UD website of Garrett’s resume. Perhaps that explains the speed.
Unlike you guys republicans like facts. It is not unusual to have people to come by a Republican organization and give information. That does not make the organization Republican.
As to the resume issue. We all know Garrett is a Republican. He did not shed his right to his opinion when he left partisan politics on a daily basis. The question that is meaningful is, Is he telling the truth or distorting it? Attacking him is just diversionary.
The question that is meaningful is, Is he telling the truth or distorting it?
Distorting it.
Whatever happened to Jason Patterson, who was doing a pretty good job writing more or less non-partisan blog posts over at CRI? And who was that guy anyway?
Republicans like facts? David, when you type things like that, are you laughing out loud hysterically?
If I am not mistaken…CRI is a Conservative leaning policy group…thus it would make sense that the Policy Director be of like mind. I am no political genius, but, wouldn’t you think that a Conservative Policy Group would reach out to potential Republican thinking organizations and candidates since the GOP is more inclined to be more conservative.
He should take some time and talk to the Sussex Democrats since they are more conservative than the ones in New Castle.
These attacks on Garrett are rediculous and since your real beef is with the people financing CRI, you should start with the two who sent the fundraising letters…Charlie Copeland and Barrett Kidner.
mike, from their website, “CRI seeks to become Delaware’s preeminent non-partisan, free-market oriented think tank.”
Hence our problem with them. They say they are non-partisan, but clearly they are not.
Yeah, Mike, if the CRI was just a conservative think tank, I would have absolutely no problem with them. But they wanted to pretend to be non partisan so that they could game the system for Burris and Copeland and other Republican candidates in the upcoming election cycles.
But they wanted to pretend to be non partisan so that they could game the system for Burris…
BUZZZ!!!!
Put your differences with Burris aside on this particular item, he is not affiliated with CRI. He was at the beginning, but had concerns and departed.
Maybe they mean “non-partisan” in an amusingly ironic way. You know, like “Fair and Balanced”.
I didn’t say he was associated with them now. I understand Burris is no longer associated with CRI.
I am sure if the Democratic Party invited anyone from CRI they would attend.
I have heard John Stapleford speak at several community building events. He does a great job.
Mike Protack
My sources buried deep inside the Sussex County GOP tell me that the last person to speak at their meeting was a member of *gasp* the Markell Administration. So your point is what, exactly?
Interestingly enough, our little story on Wozniak is our number one story today. Did we hit a nerve?
I just love how sensitive they are to anything about the CRI. I think they really expected that the CRI would be treated like an nonpartisan authority to support their criticisms of Markell. And I suppose, if it was left up to the News Journal, it would have been.
The cunning linguist who is Mike Hunt wrote: “These attacks on Garrett are rediculous and since your real beef is with the people financing CRI, you should start with the two who sent the fundraising letters…Charlie Copeland and Barrett Kidner.”
Right, Mike. DL has NEVER previously written about CRI, Charles Copeland, or Barrett Kidner.

Nobody has done more to lift the veil on CRI than Delaware Liberal. And Garrett Wozniak’s BFF ties to Charles Bouvier de Flanders Copeland make clear that, while Wozniak’s lips may be moving, it’s Copeland who’s doing the speaking.
“Non-partisan” doesn’t mean lacking a political viewpoint. It means unaffiliated with a political party. And if the organization itself isn’t linked to the GOP – no matter the leanings of its board or staff – it’s an accurate description.
anon, if CRI is unaffiliated than the Red Sox will win this year’s world series.
