Newt Gingrich Is Insane

Filed in National by on September 13, 2010

There’s been a 2-year effort by Republicans to present Obama as “foreign,” “other” and “un-American.” We’ve seen a rise in birtherism and it’s softer cousin “Obama is the most mysterious president in history.” (Perhaps they’ve never heard of the bestseller Dreams From My Father). Newt Gingrich opens the latest campaign to depict Obama as some kind of wild-eyed radical (with some good old-fashioned racism thrown in):

Gingrich says that D’Souza has made a “stunning insight” into Obama’s behavior — the “most profound insight I have read in the last six years about Barack Obama.”

“What if [Obama] is so outside our comprehension, that only if you understand Kenyan, anti-colonial behavior, can you begin to piece together [his actions]?” Gingrich asks. “That is the most accurate, predictive model for his behavior.”

“This is a person who is fundamentally out of touch with how the world works, who happened to have played a wonderful con, as a result of which he is now president,” Gingrich tells us.

I happen to admire some “anti-colonialists” a lot. Anti-colonialists like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams. Of course, it would also be rude for me to call Newt Gingrich a racist piece of sh*t.

Ginrich is blowing smoke! He didn’t have any problem taking a “Obama” paycheck for being part of Obama’s Arne Duncan Race to The Top dream team with Al Sharpton.

I guess there is a little tea-bagger in all of us. By today’s standards and yesterday’s Washington was a terrorist.

Sorry, Kilroy, but the tea-baggers don’t own the Founding Fathers.

Recognize this for what it is…. It is exactly the way Soviets tried to paint the world before they fell, it is the same as East Germany propagandized before their fall, It is same as Idi Amin, Mobuto, Hitler, Baghdad Bob, all spoke before they were removed….

It it the weapon of last resort. They are more concerned on keeping their ideological core from abandoning them along with everyone else, than they are with how the rest of the world perceives their rationality….

Gingrich is on of the few Reps who are true intellectuals. Therefore, it is mind-boggling that he waded in – knee-deep – on the Ground Zero Mosque controversy (sounding very anti-american and political). Moreover, he is showing a woeful lack of original thinking by comandeering Dinesh D’Souza’s Forbes piece on Obama.

I’ve seen Gingrich slowling running for President since early 2009. He’s appeared on numerous news channels, gatherings and events, touting his expertise. He’s sounded very ‘Presidential’ vis-a-vis Obama. Unfortunately, he’s lost a lot of credibility with me over the last month. He really is a great ‘idea’ man. And he knows how DC works (to get things done). Nonetheless, he’s still miles ahead of Obama when it comes to overall leadership abilities.

All people lose neurons over time. Obviously, this has happened to Gingrich.

  8. I’d like to see evidence that Gingrich was ever a thinker or a leader. I remember him throwing a hissy fit and shutting down government & impeaching Clinton while carrying on his own affairs. If anyone was a political genius in the 90s on the GOP side it was Frank Luntz. But I guess Gingrich has some sort of genius at keeping himself in the spotlight.

  9. just kiddin says:

The Gingrich Plan of 96 is the NEW plan for the GOP. Shut down the government and begin lawsuits against Obama. Thats their plan. Luntz is a neo con whose talking points always end up on Faux News. Gingrich is as crazy as O’Donnell, if he thinks he has any traction for Presidunce, its proof positive the education system is geared to continue the dumbing down of America. We burned the Contract on America here in Rodney Square complete with Mayor, City Council Members, unions, peace groups and other good citizens. Polemical are you serious? This guy is an opportunist of the worst variety.

  12. I wish I had written this:

When last was there such a brazen outburst of race-baiting in the service of partisan politics at the national level? George Wallace took more care to sound race-neutral.
