Daily Approval Rating — Results for AG Beau Biden and Poll for IC K.W. Stewart

Filed in Delaware by on March 3, 2014

In the poll on your right, state whether your strongly approve, approve, disapprove or strongly disapprove of the job performance of Lt. Governor Matt Denn. There is also an option for Neutral or Meh, which is also kinda like “Don’t care” or “Don’t know.” I am sure why you are voting in a poll if you have no opinion or knowledge of the subject matter of the poll, but sometimes people just want to express a resounding shrug of the shoulders as an opinion.

This poll is of course an internet poll, and thus it is purely voluntary, non-random, and non-scientific. At best, the results can only be described as a poll of the readership of Delaware Liberal. The results will be posted tomorrow at this time.

Here are the results for AG Biden:

Approve: 48%
Disapprove: 41%
Meh: 11%

Those who approve or disapprove of Attorney General Biden do so more strongly than those who just approve or disapprove. Of those who approve, 61% do so strongly. Of those who disapprove, 63% do so strongly. So a strong polarization factor, probably has something to do with his father rather than him.

Here is a schedule for the polls we will be conducting this week and next (with links to past poll results):

Tuesday, 2/25 – Governor Jack Markell
Wednesday, 2/26 – Lt. Governor Matt Denn
Thursday, 2/27 – Treasurer Chip Flowers
Friday, 2/28 – Attorney General Beau Biden
Monday, 3/3 – Insurance Commissioner Karen Weldin Stewart
Tuesday, 3/4 – Auditor Tom Wagner
Wednesday, 3/5 – Senator Tom Carper
Thursday, 3/6 – Senator Chris Coons
Friday, 3/7 – Congressman John Carney
Monday, 3/10 – Speaker Peter Schwartzkopf
Tuesday, 3/11 – Senate President Pro Tem Patricia Blevins

  1. Independent Voter says:

How did you link the poll results of Beau to his father? Maybe not everyone is all that impressed with beau’s track record? Seems like a leap in logic to attribute the results to daddy Biden.

  2. Geezer says:

Well, stupid, not being impressed with a track record would hardly account for strong opposition, would it, especially in a state in which about 40% voted for a minor-party candidate rather than the GOP-unopposed Beau.

I’m glad you left the liberal camp. Your “intellect” fits much better with the conservatives.

  3. Independent Voter says:

Thanks for the continued third-grade name calling, geezer. Perhaps his own do-nothing track record, while violent crimes, gang activity, and drugs expand their stranglehold on our low income areas, has something to do with why people are against him. Crime has gotten worse under his “watch”, if you can even call it that. Sorry if that interferes with your hopes for his future career, but the poll results are what they are, my friend.

  4. Independent Voter says:

And, my good friend geezer, unless the poll included a question regarding why voters disliked him so much, your opinion that his daddy is to blame is nothing more than conjecture on your part.

“especially in a state in which about 40% voted for a minor-party candidate rather than the GOP-unopposed Beau.”

In 2010, when Beau ran against an IPOD wingnut, 21.1 percent of voters picked the minor-party candidate. Where does your 40 percent come from?

  6. Geezer says:

Actually I intensely dislike the Bidens. So, yeah, I’d say my ability to determine these things is vastly superior to yours.

The notion that an attorney general can “do something” about crime, beyond prosecuting it, shows that you you know little to nothing about politics and government in Delaware.

@SW: It comes from a bad memory.

“In 2010, when Beau ran against an IPOD wingnut’

In 2010 I voted for Beau based on the sole criteria that he was not a whack job. I’ve been letting groups like the 9-12 patriots help me make decisions. If they are for someone, that person automatically is a non-choice for me. As a independent, I am anti-whacks. Unfortunately for the right, they seem to be the haven for the whacks. I honestly would vote for a banana slug before I voted for anyone they endorse. Sometimes I even have to vote for myself!

  8. Dave says:

“while violent crimes, gang activity, and drugs expand their stranglehold on our low income areas”

Further, is there some evidence that correlates the AG’s office and actions with the above? If the AG does ______, gang activity will be reduced or elimination. If the AG does ______drug use will be reduced, and so on. AG can enforced the laws by prosecuting but the penalties are set by legislative action and sentencing guidelines. I seriously doubt that criminals perceive increased opportunity though AG inaction. These kind of simplistic correlations are both incorrect and intellectually weak. Nothing more than sound bites.

  9. Independent Voter says:

If the far whacked-out leftist radicals see no correlation between the prosecutor’s office and crime, you need to go smoke some more of whatever you’re toking on. They make decisions on which cases to prosecute, what sentences to recommend, or, in the case of the US AG, what laws to overturn and refuse to enforce in violation of his sworn oath.
