“Fuck You, David. You’re Fired.” [Updated]
Yeah, that sounds like our esteemed New Castle County Executive and former felon Thomas P. Gordon. And those were the words he allegedly said to former Chief Administrative Officer David Grimaldi yesterday afternoon after Grimaldi allegeldy questioned his choice of a risk manager, because the risk manager was actually Gordon’s girlfriend.
Yeah, this is going to get real ugly, really fast.
Grimaldi said he might challenge Gordon if he runs for reelection, saying “I put lipstick on that pig for three years, but it is a … pig.” I wonder what he really said that the News Journal is leaving out. Grimaldi, call me. I will publish you uncensored the way it ought be.
UPDATE FROM MY SOURCES: Proof of the getting ugly really fast: Grimaldi has taken over the public Gordon Facebook page and changed it to himself. Now that is fucking awesome.

After three years of kissing up, probably not much left in the tube.
First debate question: Mr. Gordon wanted to hire his girlfriend to be a risk manager. Mr. Grimaldi intimidated an 84 year old docent at Rockwood Mansion to impress his girlfriend. Whatever happened to just giving a bouquet of flowers?

Anyone want to jump in the CE race now? All you need is a filing fee and no criminal record. Meanwhile, you can watch the cage match between DG and TG unfold.
Fortunately, this seems to be a story that will tell itself.
But somewhat ironic that it breaks on the last day of work at the NJ for Cris Barrish, Maureen Milford, Jeff Montgomery, robin brown, Bill McMichael and Doug Williams — all talented people who could get to the bottom of this story a lot faster and with much more insight than those who remain.
Granted, Grimaldi has no political base, so it doesn’t make sense for him to run…although it’d be fun.
But it sure would be nice if someone who is (a) competent and (b) relatively untainted would challenge Gordon. Anyone like that in NCC?
Maybe Poppiti should change direction? Let’s face it, though, anyone outside of that circle would probably be the likely winner.
This might be the opening Ciro needs, but he will need assurances of support from party regulars.
I believe he really wanted to run for Exec all along, but moved into the LG race to build his profile after Gordon decided not to run for governor.
All things considered, he would have a better chance of winning the exec race than coming out on top in a statewide six-way primary.
Certainly looks like “Gordon for Governor 2016” isn’t viable anymore, and now the “back up plan” to run for a 4th term as CE has become questionable. Anyone else notice that the former ‘Gordon political’ facebook page was actually renamed, “davidgrimaldi2016″… Maybe a little foreshadowing there? By the way, Tom has always said he, “… doesn’t know anything about facebooking or twittering, it was all these guys doing,” pointing to Mr. Grimaldi and others. everyone knew that Tom didn’t handle any of his social media feeds or posts. All you have to do is look at both David’s and Gordon’s posts over the past few years and they’re almost all exactly the same on both pages. Pass the popcorn, I think this is just the opening act.
Grimaldi knows too much for Gordon to paper this one over. In his first term, Tom and Sherry were on the same side. In this case, it’s internecine warfare.
As the dust settles, I think we’re going to be hearing from Tom Kovach.

I had a friend who applied for that job as was told it would not be filled due to budgetary constraints….I believe he was definitely qualified for the Risk Manager position.
Gordons ship is sinking and Grimaldi wins with the best comment of the year. An awful lot of lipstick went on that pig in 2012 a la Dave Grimaldi.
