Former Advisor Abandons the Chimp
In the mode of Lee Atwater coming around at the end of his life, a former Bush aide has done an interview in which he admits to having no faith in Bush any more. Matthew Dowd is a Dem turned Bush-campaign-strategist turned Bush-admin-hater. He still like W. personally, but hates where he is politically and in policy. Favorite line:
Looking back, Mr. Dowd now says his faith in Mr. Bush was misplaced.
I have the feeling that there are going to be a lot more “Come to Jesus” moments for these guys in the coming years.

Anyone who “liked” Bush (for even ten minutes) is an idiot.
A child/s death, a divorce, the deployment of one’s son, are all influences that broaden ones horizons. One judges life differently after each event.
He expresses the hope that his speaking out will have the power to change Bush’s take of the war………..It is a noble hope, but one that is historically unfounded. Usually one in charge, who is possessed with the belief that he just needs to stay the path, who has staked everything on a path gone wrong, stays the course……and in the end, is alone.
I read about this fuckwad over on Eschaton yesterday.
He is a cheap, ambulance chasin’ turncoat who is now basically announcing to all DEM frontrunners that he is baaaccckkkkk and open for business.
Forget you.
His evil conniving with Rove to divide the DEMs in 2000 stands on its own. No soup for you Matty Doo.

Lovely sentiments, Nancy. Forgive us our trespasses…
I forget how lily-pure the DE readership professes to be.
Dare I say fuck on someone’s comment section?
Horrors, run for cover!
