Thank God It’s Monday!
How about a nice steaming cup of honesty from former Republicans to get the week started?
Welcome to the American Monarchist Forum, a website for Americans who believe in monarchy. Our purpose is neither to form a political party nor (yet) a political movement, but rather to provide a forum for a wide range of different views concerning the world’s oldest, and best, form of government.
Generations of Americans have been conditioned to believe that monarchies are cruel despotisms. In fact, the opposite is true. Constitutional monarchies have a better record of providing economic prosperity for their people, while respecting human rights, than any other form of government in the world today. The reason is simple: monarchies are the only form of government not headed by power-seeking politicians.
Well of course! Monarchies require a landed gentry with right of inheritance, which is well under way in the US. The aristocrats derive their rights from the king. And the king in turn receives his authority directly from God. Unlike those messy republics, where the head of state derives his authority from the so-called “People.” People are stupid and dirty! People are sinners! People don’t know what’s good for them!
I think you are missing the timeless beauty of the fact that monarchies are the only form of government not headed by power-seeking politicians.
Curiously, the word “Republican” appears nowhere on this site. Since they talk about government “providing economic prosperity for their people” rather than allowing people to achieve their own prosperity, I’d say this is more Left than Right.
Ah yes, the leftist monarchist. Everyone knows the left is down with hereditary social and economic hierarchies.
Monarchy? Its good because it was around a lot? Based on that reasoning, how about slavery? Relegating women to the kitchen? Bringing back torture (oops, GOP already made a comeback with that one)?
Just one example: the British Empire. Promoting leadership based on lineage has resulted a fall from world domination to Tony Blair. ‘Nuff said.
