What is missing from this abortion editorial ?
Today the WNJ hacks and losers editorial board takes up the politics of abortion and after mentioning both Biden’s and Carper’s abortion stance, ends with this:
Keep in mind, all of this is for a procedure that a majority of Americans consistently say they oppose. So not even the polls explain this thinking.
At the other end of the political spectrum, Republican candidates must show how strongly they are against abortion if they wish to win the nomination.
Therefore, we saw Rudy Giuliani, who once was strongly pro-choice on all matters, come out in praise of the court for upholding the ban.
Abortion has a political logic all its own.
If you said that the missing element was a mention of Michael Castle’s pro-choice abortion views, you are right.
Does the News Journal work for Michael Castle? When they let him off the hook and fail to examine his record time after time, you have to think so. I guess with a conservative primary fight on the horizon, mentioning Castle’s advocacy of stem cell research (which many pro-lifer’s feel is tantamount to advocating abortion) was viewed a bit too dicey.
on fire this morning, you are….
Thanks Yoda!
Castle currently sports a 100% approval rating from NARAL. So does Biden. Carper is rated 55%, Harry Reid 65%.
And the people who dominate the nominating wing of the Democratic Party oppose any restriction on abortion. No dissent is allowed.
Right. Just look at how Democrats shot down Harry Reid and Bob Casey Jr. for their pro-life views.
Democrats are sounding sour notes about the court’s decision, seeing it as a call to arms to save the right to abortion.
Do I detect a “some people say” fallacy?
If the Democrats dislike the decision and the ban so much, why don’t they pass another law to repeal it? They have a majority in both houses, so they could do it.
The News Journal dopes missed the obvious explanation: Democrats are the biggest tent in town. They can’t get a party-line vote on abortion issues.
Below is our sole congressman,
maikashol
spelled phonetically. Thought Jason would appreciate it.
Seriously, how many people, both those opposed and those not, understand the D&X procedure and why its used (opponents call it “partial birth abortion” or “killing live, cute babies”, even though these euphemisms are not even close)?
I want to be a politician in Delaware. Where else can you get away with not being held accountable for your own political views?
Don, I think the only other place politicians escape accountability is the other 49 States and Washington, D.C.
You gotta love Harry Reid, votes for the PBA ban and then complains loudly that the supreme court upheld the law he voted for.
opponents call it “partial birth abortion”
Because that’s precisely what it is, maybe?
Hube, as we all know, language and labels can be used to put a ‘spin’ on even the most quantifiable issues. For instance, we could refer to you as a “pus-filled, fecal producing, bag of ignorance”, and techinically, we’d be right, but public decency prevents us from refering to you at all.
Diarrhea is technically a bowel movement too
no problem Dis, educate us.
please describe the “D&X procedure and why its used”.
