Wind power creates electricty and tourism
New in-depth research from Scotland performed in a highly scenic area with a high density of wind farms indicates that tourists are much more likely to be attracted than put off by the knowledge that there are wind turbines in the area. In Denmark, a small country with the world’s highest wind turbine development, tourism has grown 50% since 1980.
Who plans a trip to go look at a dirty old coal burner?
Around the turn of the last century factories were a source of civic pride. A smoke stack billowing out black smoke was a sign of “progress” and a community that was on the move.
Delaware can make the wind turbine the analogous symbol for our own period of prosperity through forward thinking.
