National Pharma Blogger Smacks Down the WNJ

Filed in Uncategorized by on May 4, 2007

This guy gives the national smackdown that we usually apply locally on the Snooze Journal.  This time it is because of their blind allegiance to AstraZeneca and their failure to ask any hard questions and having a lack of skepticism.  Gary Haber, he is calling you out!

Just curious. Is there any successful business venture you all approve of? Or should we just take a page from Venezuela and nationalize everything?

  2. liberalgeek says:

Yes, proper reporting is one of them. Should we permit a newspaper to get in bed with a business that they are supposed to be objective about?

I don’t have a problem with most business, but to assume that they can conduct business in any way that they choose, regardless of it’s impact on citizens, is insanity. If we cannot even hold the MSM accountable for poor reporting, then where do we end up, Chris? Should AstraZeneca be permitted to just have their press releases published with no comment or analysis from the rest of the world?

  3. Chris says:

No. A reasonable paper would investigate. But that was not the point I was making. It just seems to me that any business venture that shows great success becomes a target for the left. I have longed sensed an anti-capitalistic current from the left. To the point where “socialism” is considered an ideal to aspire to. So that tends to bring any negative business statement I hear from that camp into question.

  4. jason330 says:

Michael Zubillaga was quoted in a company newsletter comparing physicians’ offices with “a big bucket of money” from which salespeople can “grab a handful.”

What you call legitimate business ventures others call racketeering.

Hold it! Don’t reply. I already know: “Our health system is the envy of the world”

    right?

  5. liberalgeek says:

Well, we are not delawaresocialist, we are DelawareLiberal. At least half of our contributors are professionally “management” and some of us own our own businesses. So perhaps there is a better blog out there to challenge that particular misconception that you have about liberals.

I have to go sell a service to a client, so I won’t be able to give you any hippie/commie/socialist answers to your further replies for some time today.

  6. jason330 says:

    Chris –

You know nothing of the left. You know a bunch of worn out clichés (derived from somewhere other than Fox News) and apparently little else.

Liberal is to socialist as conservative/i> is to _____________??

I have to leave too. I just bought an orange with my foodstamps, and now I’m going to hop in my Cadillac and get a bottle of vodka with the change, so I’ll be indisposed for a while. (I have a color television, too).

  9. donviti says:

    Chris,

you seem to leave out the part regarding how they got their “great success” I think that is the problem most of us have here.

IF they did it on the up and up, hey kudos, but we find they don’t, they haven’t and will continue to try and find any way possible to make a dime.

I don’t think any of us here would have a problem with a corporation that was successful and did it within the law. I know I wouldn’t.

…and with that, Chris was officially welcomed with Jason-love as an appreciated-official commenter at DelawareLiberal. Congrats.
