Dems Can Reform Government, Yes They Can!
Looks like we are finally seeing some honest-to-goodness, rubber-meets-the-road reform from our Democratic leadership. You want pork prevention, how about John Murtha being upbraided by a fellow Democrat for pork-barreling? I hope this will mark the beginning of the end of the earmark era of Congress. We are walking the walk. Thank you, Speaker Pelosi.

ROTFLMAO!!
While I agree with you Lberalgeek that we need major reform and the elimination of Pork Barrels, I am not sure I ready anywhere in that article that Pelosi is responsible for the change. In fact, it seems her closest allies are the biggest offenders. Yes, one Democrat complained about it, but that is hardly action.
It will take ALOT for Democrats to ever even appear anti-pork barrel….they practically invented it.
You should read the opening line again. “Today Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI) will introduce a motion to rebuke Rep. John Murtha (D-PA) for breaking a House rule.”
The House rule that was broken was instituted this January. Although there’s the line “Republicans used to do this all the time,” no evidence is given to support the claim.
Its about time the elected Republicans started fighting back against pork.
Ha. That’s why I’m not getting paid for this job. Now I get Hube’s laughter. Either way, the ear-marking has to stop and this rule is perfectly alright with me. As for the question of Republicans doing it all the time, I give you Tom Delay as my example.
Q.E.D.
Shite
DEMs would do well to stay off veterans as we encourage them to stand off the war in Iraq, to bring the soldiers home to protect our shores as so many of those reserve and NGers were wont to be.
If I were to start cursing here, hope y’all would understand.
I’m with you Nancy, but Murtha knows the score. We definitely need to be on our best behavior if we are to maintain the high road.
