Comment Rescue: Waiting for the News Journal and other futile endeavours

Dana has a post up about how the News Journal is not covering an proposed change to the Wilmington’s city charter (HB 161) which, as Dana puts it would change Wilmington’s city charter to make Wilmington residents pay for their sidewalk repair: in effect, reversing by legislative fiat a change to the city charter that Wilmingtonians directly voted for by referendum in 1979.

The News Journal sucks. That is a given, but check out this sad state of affairs:

I have emailed The News Journal about this and was told a story was in the works recently, but was put on hold. I believe now that is has been voted out of committee it is back on the radar at TNJ.

I also emailed all of the sponsors about the bill, along with my state rep, Diana McWilliams. Only Rep. McWilliams responded. She said she will have to talk to those who will be affected by the bill before deciding how she will vote.

Williams, Keelely, Plant, Brady and Henry all have ignored my email. I did not copy the email to McDowell since he was not a co-sponsor, but he has never once responded to any of my emails, so there would have been no point.

That is just pitiful.
