shockingly, no comments from the peanut gallery.
..but…
….but…
..but…MSNBC has a liberal guy.
but, but, but, but, Dan Rather
but but but you guys whine about ONE conservative leaning outlet. AWWWWW, POOR BABIES!!!!!!
good one hube, much better than Jason or I could have written.
Murdoch and Roger Ailes just want money. They couldn’t give a damn about abortion, worker’s rights, iraq, jeebus, terry schiavo, or whatnot.
The only issue that’s important to them is de-regulation, which, in business parlance, means $$$!!!
Murdoch is the Pied Piper and Fox News is his fife.
This is an area where Hube highlights his real blind spot on a regular basis.
He thinks that becuase some reports who make $30k a year (if they are lucky) identify themselves as Democrats, and becuase Dan Rather bit on a bogus memo story (not a bogus story about Bush being AWOL mind you) that the entire US media establishment is liberal with the exception of fox news.
What his brilliant mind fails to figure in is that Dan Rather and all the $30k per year hacks work for large media companies that are more conservative as Barry Goldwater.
He forgets about how now of the media companies (not even the pinko New York Times) uttered a peep of skepitiscm about the Bush’s vanity war.
He is simply blind to reality on the media issue. And I know. He’s been sining the same tired song (mocking reality) for three years.
Ah…the liberal double standard arises once again.
I have clearly stated before that Fox has a slight conservative bias. But it is small potatoes compared to the bias of the rest of the friggin’ media.
However, any media outlet with a bias toward your beliefs gets a free pass (unless they mistakingly air news that you disagree with). They are all allowed to have a liberal bias and be considered honorable, accountable news sources. But one with a slight conservative bias is trash and a mouthpiece for the administration.
I guess if we all thought as you, you would be much happier. We probably would be damned miserable, but at least donviti and Jase could hold hands and skip in their phony utopia.
Yawn. The myth of the liberal bias of the media has been debunked eight way to sunday. I don’t feel like going into it (yet again) so I’ll give you a little challenge.
If you can name six news corporations that have had consistent a liberal bias over the past six I’ll give you a free copy of Sean Hannity’s book. Just keep in mind that having one liberal columnist out of six does not make a newspaper liberal. And having one liberal show on a network does not make the network liberal.
I’ll give you a head start: Air America Radio. Now you only have to come up with five.
Have fun.
CBS, NBC, ABC, MSNBC, CNN, New York Times (and affiliates, LA Times (and affiliates), Philly Inquirer, Daily News, Chicago Tribune, Orlando Sun-Sentinal, Houston Chronicle, Detroit Free Press….enough for you…or should I keep going….Asbury Park Press, Baltimore Sun, NPR, PBS, Atanta Journal-Constitutional… It really would be easier just to list the few that are neutral or slightly conservative. Since there are so few.
I love how you “debunk” the “myth” by simply stating it is not true. Classic liberal tactic. “We think it, there for it is”
What no documentation?
Sorry Chris, no book until you show that the New York Times (which beat the drums for the war for a year prior to the invasion) is liberal.
As for the others – it can’t be don’t so I’ll not send you on a fools errand.
On second thought I’ll give you the Asbury Park Press (about which I know nothing but in honor of Bruce). That means you only have to come up with another four liberal news companies.
And simply declaring something to be liberal does not make it liberal.
Have fun.
He thinks that becuase some reports who make $30k a year
Dude, you don’t know that “K” indicates thousand?? Are you truly that thick??? No big media reporter makes f***in’ $30,000 a year, moron. Good thing you advertised on the radio — it gets you the hits, but also shows the “intellectual” level of this hackery. Lord knows why Tom Noyes treads here. He must like slumming!
I suggest you read Bernie Goldberg — a self-described liberal who worked for 30 yrs. in the MSM — as to why you are dead wrong and he’s right (as am I).
Hmmm. That’s some bile… very bile-y.
Let’s take a look. I said, “…because some reports who make $30k a year (if they are lucky)… ”
And Hube says I’m a moron.
But what does google say?
WAGES, HOURS, AND FRINGE BENEFITS
Newspaper Reporter salaries vary depending on whether the publication is weekly or daily, its circulation, experience level of the reporter, the type of publication, and whether the position is union.
A 1996 salary survey conducted by the California Newspaper Publishers Association indicates average weekly earnings for News Reporters as follows:
Daily Publications*
Entry level: $315 – 571/week
Experienced: $383 – 800/week
Weekly Publications*
Entry level: $332 – 379/week
Experienced: $350 – 436/week
…and that was 1996. So you were saying?
Here is a suggestion – http://www.google.com – look into it prior to going all bile-y on everyone. .
I read the dialog over whether the US media, was liberal or not. As we have all seen, Fox has been loose with the videos behind their stories, as well as with their banners that flash up on screen.
I, at least, am unaware of any of those outlets listed by Chris, who are willingly doing the same thing.
Sometimes when one hears news that makes one uncomfortable, instead of facing facts, one blames the messenger and weaves elaborate tales of twisted conspiracies to protect themselves from the realism they have been given.
Speaking of twisted conspiracies, why are most media outlets silent on the fact that iraq’s PSA’s will turn over 70% of the profit from their own oil to American Oil Companies, whereas all other nations pay less than 10%. Why have they not broadcast this obvious link between war and oil that pretty well proves that America went to war for cheap oil. The oil is not for average Americans, mind you, but for huge international corporations who will pump it for %1.50 and sell it for %75.
A simple test could be useful to determine whether or not a publication is truly liberal. Google PSA’s (Production Service Agreements) and read the articles to see if any major news source mentions the going rate that Iraqis will soon have to pay, if the Hydrocarbon Act is passed by the Iraqi parliament.
If you happen to find, any publication that does publish such news, I will give an inch and say there is a small probability that they may have some liberals on board. But the others who say nothing? No chance at all that they are liberal.
They are just publishing raw data that simple conservatives just can’t stand to hear……………………………..
Ok. Let’s start with the NY Times. It buried the Kennedy terror plot story, even before all the details of it were known. I know the link is to a RIGHT WING site, but the facts are cold in this one.

Oh. Since YouTube videos seem to be popular around here. Try this one on. Illustrating the absurd…with the absurd.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Px_XBJHrs4I
slight conservative bias
gee, what a guy.
and the op ed section of the NY times may be liberal but that does not make the entire paper liberal.
The same can be said about the WSJ.
Dude, you said He thinks that becuase some reports who make $30k a year…
Considering I never said that, I don’t think my comments were out of line. Assumption begets assumption.
But now that we’re clear on the figures, what sort of person do you think will work for those peanuts — conservatives or “save the world” liberals who believe the position they’re in will assist them in “getting the word out”?
Again, read Goldberg.
BTW, don and/or Jase: where’s your guys’ e-mail contact? One of you please e-mail me at my e-mail addy.
