If, instead of yelling, they had killed the dot head Cleric I suppose it would have been justified. This is first and foremost a Christian country afteralll.

listen, murder is ok, when you have to keep people safe.

why is it so hard for you to understand that?

  2. Duffy says:

    Simply shameful.

  3. Von Cracker says:

The GOP social base at its finest!

Nah, we don’t hate, we just practice the one true religion.

  4. Chris says:

“The GOP social base at its finest!

Nah, we don’t hate, we just practice the one true religion.”

This from the kings and queens of hate….I love the hypocrisy around this place.

  5. jason330 says:

You liberals are so intolerant of intolerance.

  6. Von Cracker says:

“This from the kings and queens of hate….I love the hypocrisy around this place.”

So I guess we’ll have to embrace all forms of racism, religious (or lack of) intolerance, corporate welfare, and an ever increasing child mortality rate to appease Chris’ notion of hypocrisy.

  7. Dorian Gray says:

    RELIGION POISONS EVERYTHING

  8. Dorian Gray says:

If you act like that – I hate you.

    Religion poisons everything.

  9. Chris says:

“an ever increasing child mortality rate”

You embrace the unborn child mortality rate.

“You liberals are so intolerant of intolerance.”

Again nice spin. But the fact is liberals ARE intolerant. Not of “intolerance”, but of differing points of view. I don’t abide intolerance either. But liberals define ANYONE that disagrees with them automatically as “intolerant”.

Ok…I admit it. I am intolerant….intolerant of liberal hypocrisy.

  10. Dorian Gray says:

OK. This one is easier. Take this example – If you want to discuss different macroeconomic ideas, I am open to it. There’s a discussion going on right now on this blog regarding revenue and tax rates (the old laffer curve is back). Speaking for myself, I am very open-minded.

But nothing requires me to be tolerant of beliefs than are baseless, taken on faith, revealed through dreams, etc. that run counter to science and reason. Open-minded means I’ll take seriously what you say and evaluate the reasons for your position. I needn’t respect your beliefs a priori.

If you support your cliams with bible passages and ridiculous mental contortions I can call you out on it. That’s not intolerate.

Tolerance of follishness is intellectually insulting.

  11. Duffy says:

“Tolerance of follishness [sic] is intellectually insulting.”

Then please explain the appeal of Michael Moore, Al Franken, 9/11 Truthers, Diversity over merit, et al.

  12. Von Cracker says:

    Ha! Duffy [sic]’ed ya DG!

And Duffy, if you are equating Michael Moore and Al Franken to foolishness, then the conversation stops there. They’ve been proven right, or on the side of reason, time and time again.

Chris – I care about the child mortality rate, not a fetus rate (unless it’s caused by lack of pre-natal care). Just because you believe life begins at conception doesn’t make it so. Case in point, rip a 2 month-old fetus out of the woman’s womb and see if it’s alive and beathing on its own after a few minutes.

    NO, I didn’t think so…

…uh, thanks VC, but maybe somebody else should handle the pro-choice talking points.

  14. Chris says:

“…uh, thanks VC, but maybe somebody else should handle the pro-choice talking points.”

No. I think he represents the Pro-choice crowd quite nicely.

VC…are you parent? I thought maybe somewhere a while back you said you were. If so, when you child was in the womb, did it mean nothing to you? Wasn’t it just a medical condition? Was it NOT your child until it emerged?

If you are indeed a parent and can answer no to any or all of those questions, then I really worry about you.

If you are not a parent well then I get it. Hell, even I was pro-choice once….until my son was born. Once you have seen that, its stops being a fetus. It is a life…from day 1.

  15. Tyler Nixon says:

    Back to this topic.

    Let us pray.

We meditate on the transcendental glory of the deity supreme. . .

  16. Tyler Nixon says:

    ……..forgive me.

Some brainwashed religious fundamentalist fanatic zealots just barged in here and interrupted my last post.

Aside from outer space is there anything left that these people aren’t f***ing up for the rest of humanity?

  17. Chris says:

“Some brainwashed religious fundamentalist fanatic zealots just barged in here and interrupted my last post.”

Gosh Darn…you is all just so dang clever….it boggles the mind.

  18. Dorian Gray says:

Just got back to the blog today. I did get [sic]’d, didn’t I. I apologize for the misspelling. I did not realize some people were so fucking perfect.

Nevertheless, as VC eluded, Franken and Moore make rational arguments. There’s two side to the story, that’s true. And I don’t mind a little debate. That was the point.

When you defend a position based on the inerrant nature of some bronze age mystical book it’s insults my intelligence – and it should insult your’s as well.

And it’s diversity with merit, not diversity over merit.

  19. jason330 says:

Three days between comments??? Tsk tsk…I’m gonna have to keep an eye on you.

  20. Von Cracker says:

Proves my point! You, Chris, let emotion and a ‘want of something’ to cloud your judgment.

My harsh example allows one to see that it’s ultimately up to the woman to decide if the growth of the fetus is to continue. Of course, parents planning a child, or even by accident, will feel attached to their fetus. But what you said, in effect, that everyone should feel that way is absurd.

I will say this though…abortion is a wedge-issue and has no real importance to our governance. Abortion will always take place, regardless if it’s deemed illegal or not. If made illegal, women will find a way to terminate an unwanted pregnancy, either through self-mutilation or back-door clinics. Either way, injury and death rates for these women will climb, while the real abortion rate will stay the same….

So thinking like an anti-choicer, which is the lesser of two evils?

  21. Dorian Gray says:

    To Jason:
Please accept my heartfelt apology. I was on a weekend bender. Von Cracker and Donviti know my M.O..

  22. donviti says:

    Jason,

that’s code for “my wife didn’t let me on the computer”

  23. jason330 says:

    I’ve been there bro.

  24. Dorian Gray says:

    Donviti – C’mon dude. You’re killing me.
