More “wisdom” from the Basin Rd. Brahmins

Filed in National by on July 19, 2007

The NJ Editorial board is getting a little testy. They don’t understand why it isn’t obvious to everyone that Iraq is a bi-partisan problem caused by the Democrats unwillingness to play dead.

Long story short: Rhonda B. Graham, Ron Williams, Rita Truschel, John Sweeney, Harry F. Themal, and Doug Williams are complete idiots.

Reid’s all-nighter wasn’t “posturing,” it was intended to smoke out the Republican posturers that were running around trying to distance themselves from Bush and claiming they were “wavering” on the war. What do they call them over ad dKos? WINOS – “Waverers In Name Only.”

Reid called their bluff and forced them to lay down yet another pro-war vote, so now we all know where they stand.

And doesn’t Rita Truschel look exactly like Garrison Keillor?

Spot on. Truschel and the bit about “posturing”.

and yet the media (CNN) were calling it political theater….WTF was it when the President piloted on that aircraft carrier, when he flew in for Terri Schiavo,

I mean christ of course it was theater, the Dems new jack shit wasn’t going to happen, so they put the fucking Republicans on stage to prove it.

why was it such a bad thing?

    liberal media my ass

  4. No Donviti. It was not theatre, it was how the system was meant to work. Filibuster to give balance to the minority party but sure, hold them to it, make it mean something.

Pete duPont ran down to DC to hold press conferences against the DEM filibuster of the appointment annointment of now SCOTUS Chief Roberts but the GOP at the time wanted to eliminate the right for the minority party to keep the simple up or down vote from the floor.

No, the GOP only a few years ago claimed the right to change the very sentate rules themselves. Sad ot say the DEMs caved.

We are insisting that the DEMs take every measure in their power to reverse this insane and disasterous foreign policy coming from the WH.

September comes soon. The words from the GOPers the other night were wait until September to hear what Petraeus has to say. You will note that the WH sent for him and he is meeting with Congress TODAY. The Iraqi government has barely begun to meet their obligations set as Bush’s own benchmarks. The surge has not succeeded yet and it shall remain to be seen what will result in the next weeks.

Both our government and the Iraqi government are not meeting in August, not once.

By definition a surge is a short-term effort. The amendment before the senate yesterday was to begin a staggered withdrawal FOUR MONTHS AFTER its enactment. This is serious stuff, Donviti.
