Gross incompetence, it seems, can only take you so far in Mike Castle’s office. Here is my latest call to Congressman Barney Fife.
Receptionist: Congressman Castle’s office.
Me: Elizabeth Wenk please.
Receptionist: She is no longer here.
Me: What? Not in the Washington office? Or what?
Receptionist: (Uncomfortable) She is …no longer here.
Me: Do you have a forwarding number for her?
Receptionist: No.
Me: Okay. Thank you.

Um…maybe she got a better job. Or maybe they have caller ID.
So call and ask if she got a better job. If ti is caller ID why wouldn’t the receptionist say – “Sorry, She is taking a crap. May I put you through to her voicemail?” (Or something to that effect)??
That’s what they have always said in the past.
The caller ID thing was just me giving you a hard time. 😉
I’ll make a note to ask some of my friends in Castle’s office.
