Mission accomplished?

Filed in National by on July 24, 2007

How ironic is that the guy that came up with that little banner is quitting the administration.

and even more ironic is that he was a former tv producer. Further proof this administration is just smoke and mirrors.

“Media strategists noted afterward that Mr. Sforza and his aides had choreographed every aspect of the event, even down to the members of the Lincoln crew arrayed in coordinated shirt colors over Mr. Bush’s right shoulder and the ‘Mission Accomplished’ banner placed to perfectly capture the president and the celebratory two words in a single shot. The speech was specifically timed for what image makers call ‘magic hour light,’ which cast a golden glow on Mr. Bush.”

Ever heard of Harry and Linda Bloodworth Thomason….they would be the Sforza of the Clinton Administration.

None of this is anything new. Since the Kennedy/Nixon debates, TV producers have been integral parts of administrations. It is no accident that cameras seemed to zoom in just as Clinton would bite his lower lip. Its all theatre. Not saying I am thrilled about it, but it is just the way things are now. You can’t condemn Bush for it without condemning every President since Kennedy.

actually I can condemn Bush for it Chrissy. I just did actually.

so yet again spare me your veiled “Clinton did it too bullshit” it is so tiring. I didn’t vote for clinton, I never liked Clinton. I don’t remember seeing him on an air craft carrier with Mission accomplished over his shoulder. I don’t have to lump Clinton in my posts when I talk about Bush. It isn’t a rule and. It’s just the way things are. You don’t have to be thrilled with it.

so go fuck yourself and your ridiculous “Neaner, neaner but they did it too,” bullshit. It is juvenille and pathetic. Much like all of the arguements you bring to this blog.

I don’t FUCKING CARE WHO ELSE DID IT! I DON’T HAVE TO FUCKING LIKE IT! I DON’T HAVE TO FUCKING ACCEPT IT! AND I CAN CONDEMN WHOEVER THE FUCK I WANT. I CAN CONDEMN BUSH, I JUST DID AND I WILL DO IT AGAIN WITHOUT BRINGING UP ANOTHER PRESIDENT TO APPEASE READERS LIKE YOURSELF THAT FEEL IT IS GERMAIN TO DEFENDING A LYING, POMPOUS, DADDY’S BOY THAT HAS FUCKED ME OVER AND COUNTLESS OTHER AMERICANS!

put that in your pipe and smoke it.

But you can condemn Bush for counting his chickens before they surged. Or something like that.

Politcal theater is political theater and some pols are better at it than others, but BushCo has been more brazen than most in telling the world that black is really white, and that your lyin’ eyes should never be more trusted tham the Daily Scotty Show (now with Tony Snow).

It has been 1545 days since the declaration of Mission Accomplished in Iraq.

    And no, that’s not funny.

You still don’t get it. Bush is very lucky to be our 43rd President. By virtue of his placement in line he can do ANYTHING and get away with it because someone eles probably did something similar once. If not Clinton, Kennedy. If not Kennedy, Wilson. If not Wilson, Harding…on and on.

You can’t condem him for anything without condeming every other President going back to George Washington. It is a simple fact of life.

I was going condemn Washington but there wasn’t tv or radio back then
