Another busy week in delaware blogland. Not only did I break the story about Mike Castle kicking Wenky to the curb in order to make room for a more seasoned street fighter – but Dave at First State Politics and I gave everyone the first glimpse at“plans” for a Delaware blog Awards and banquet. The word plans is in quotes for a reason. Let’s just say now that we know there is some interest – the planning will begin in earnest.
In the meantime – what are you guys fretting over…?
WGMD has been in the blogs this week thanks to Jud’s post at FSP and Mike’s at DWA about Randy Nelson being prescribed the AstraZeneca pill. I don’t know the first thing about WGMD so for me to comment on it would be like George Bush commenting on Islam (or the ecomony, or internal combustion, or the alphabet). Anyway, I think it is interesting that my new friendMaria Evans at the WGMD has passed on commenting – and she knows alot (perhaps too much) about it.
Staying with Radio, but moving north, Allan Loudell is on vacation but prolly still reading this blog (Hi Allan). His post about how Delaware Democrats support for Markell or Carney corrolates with which candidate they support for President is worth commenting upon (especially if you (like me) HATE the DLC with a passion that burns like a red hot ember).
Dana’s post of the week includes a video that everyone should view (especially if you don’t get why I HATE what George Bush has done to this country with a passion that burns like a red hot ember). . He also has some news for you guys with the unpublished novel sitting in your desk drawer.
Kilroy has some funny pictures one of which illustrates what happens to school board members who abuse thier position to get jobs for family members inthe age of the internest.
Nancy Willing (who is warming up to Biden for Prez) covers the Markell co-chairs story. Read the list and you have to admit that markell covers a hell of alot of bases. Downstate/Upsate – Insiders/Outsiders – Workers/Business. Looking at that list you half expect Alan Levin himself to appear right next to Mike P. (By “Return Day” they will be signed up – mark my words.)
An instant runnoff voting letter by Tyler Nixon at Merit Bound Alleyneeds to generate much more chatter. The “spoiler” issue with third parties is my bete noir and instant runnoff voting would put that issue to rest right quick.
If you still want Democrats to stand infront of GOP shills and party hacks and respond to questions like “Senator, why do you want the terrorists to win?” – then go over and say “amen” to this Hube Felix post at the Confusion of Rhodey.
Duffy over at Pencader Daze thinks we can win against the terrorists if we were only more bloodthirsty like the ….wait for it……the Red Chinese. Has conservatism lost it’s way folks? You be the judge. Oh, and if you need more proof in order to decide read “Recycling Myths” presented by the Right Honorable Bishop Paul Smith. Warning: The stupid. It burns.
I know. I know…
Anyway…at least Ryan S takes a stab at being the real conservative around here. naming the Republicans who are opting out of the YouTUBE Debate as the “hacks of the week.” Good on you Ryan. Keep these phoney conservatives honest.
After reading all of that I need to purify myself in the clean clear waters of LakeTommywonk. Tom held up the Drinking Liberally flag this week (my bad). AND gives some insight into the Tour De France which will be of interest to all of you Francophile Surrender Monkeys AND you folks who put other people’s blood into your system just prior to a big sporting event.
Well, that uptick in my mood was shortlived. I went ahead and clicked over to Kavips and took a shotgun blast inthe face from Dick Cheney. That post needs more attention than I can give it in two glib sentences. A longer response post is, even now, forming in my head. [Preview: Why is it that whenever anyone predicts what Bush/Cheney is going to do next it always sounds like the pitch for a crazy Saturday Night Live sketch?]
Mike’s last stop at the Tyler Place Family Resort in Vermont has prompted me to send a link to the place to Mrs. Liberal.
KarmicJay’s word of the day is one of my favs: jalopy.
Last but not least , at the soapbox, Matt defends blogging(not that it needs defending) and points out that “it’s a great thing to do, especially in little old Delaware, where your blogs are read by just about everybody who pays attention to local politics.” Right on bro!!
And that reminds me. Plan on being at the Blogger AWARDS & summit. Yes, I know that I called you stupid two minutes ago – but that is ancient history in blogtime.
