Cohenology 101

Filed in National by on August 3, 2007

‘Morning class. Let’s get started shall we?

Now when Celia Cohen writes this…

The credit-scoring law is really the baby of Insurance Commissioner Matthew P. Denn, a Democrat with a Robin Hood complex of standing up for the little guy against the big bad insurance lobby. He made this legislation a priority within days of taking office in 2005.

She is saying something about her world view. She is giving you some insight into how she thinks about government. Anybody have a guess about what Celia is up to here?

Anyone…?

Anyone…?

    Redundant.

Very good. But here is the deeper meaning.

In Cohen’s world everything is reduced to personalities. Cohen perceives no legitimate purpose of government other than as an interesting backdrop against which heroes and villains strut and prance.

For Cohen there is no selflessness or humanity in public service only “the show”.

I’ll go a step further. The only personality at issue is Cohen’s. The blog is for her and about her only. The blog doesn’t serve any purpose other than attempting to display the insider status of the writer. Everything else appears to be filler.
