More on Pink Postcards

OK, so I am the geek around here, so I need to step up. Here is what I have found laying around here relative to the FSP post about the Protack-“GOP Vision” connection.

I am looking through our logs and can confirm a connection. The IP address in question has had several posts originate from it, including Protack’s. There are also posts that came from “betterdealfordelaware” (not Protack) and “GOP Vision.” At one point, on July 3rd the following posts were made on this blog from the same IP address:

  1. betterdealfordelaware Jul 3, 10:36 AM
  2. betterdealfordelaware Jul 3, 10:41 AM
  3. betterdealfordelaware Jul 3, 10:48 AM
  4. GOP Vision Jul 3, 11:16 AM
  5. GOP Vision Jul 3, 11:19 AM

So if these two are not the same person, they passed each other in the doorway at 11AM on the 3rd.

Protack also has posted from the same IP as early as June 25th and was preceded in posting by betterdealfordelaware starting on June 19th.

So I start digging a little more and see that the name on the betterdealfordelaware posts isn’t Protack, but one Jason O’Neill. Hmmm. Where have I seen that name? Oh yeah, I just challenged his assertion over on FSP that you couldn’t track people by IP addresses.

So…GOPVision, Jason O’Neill (as betterdealfordelaware) and Protack are all posting from presumably Mike’s house (the IP jives with a FIOS customer). Mike denies the charge, and Jason O’Neill (as himself) jumps in and speaks as a security expert to cast doubt on FSP’s investigation.

Sounds like it is time to change the locks at the Protack house.  I cannot comment about the language or meta information in the posts and its relationship to the pink postcards, but at best this seems like astro-turfing by some of Mikes closest friends.
