Oh how I love it
there is some saying along the lines of you reap what you sow right? Sowwwww I get a good giggle when I read this stuff.
DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani said Tuesday that whether he was a practicing Catholic was a personal matter as he declined to answer questions about his religion
“My religious affiliation, my religious practices and the degree to which I am a good or not so good Catholic, I prefer to leave to the priests,” Giuliani said. “That would be a much better way to discuss it. That’s a personal discussion and they have a much better sense of how good a Catholic I am or how bad a Catholic I am.”
The GOP made religion their platform. We saw them Catering to a 40 year old vegetable, shamelessly pushing “snow flake” babies in front of a camera. They even had Bush using specific phrases in his speeches that Evangelicals would understand up to and including labeling the war on terror as a Crusade.
I agree with Rudy that religion is personal, but it is the demon that politicians have created that makes it so lovely to watch. When a snake like Rudy, tries to slither away from it and make it personal it is always good for a laugh.

It really is just so damn BEAUTIFUL that all their stunts, from the religion-pandering to flip-flop accusations, are coming back to bite them hard.
Yeah, but he’s the only candidate who has run a large government and did pretty well. I might be a Dem, but I’m sick and tired of career politicians with no experience and an IQ of 80 (both bushy and our governor) running things.
He might be an asshole, but he appears to be a competent asshole.
Rudy has always been liberal on most social issues, including the importance of Church/State separation. Thus, I don’t see how this could be spun as a case of a politician slithering away from questions or reeping what he’s sewn.
maybe I didn’t spell it out Dh,
I was talking about the gop and how Rudy has to answer to them, because they (the GOP) have made religion such a big issue within their party.
I’m lovin’ it too Don!
He’s actually not particularly liberal on social issues, more libertarian. From an economic standpoint and ESPECIALLY from a foreign policy standpoint he’s as neoconservative as they come.
“and ESPECIALLY from a foreign policy standpoint he’s as neoconservative as they come.”
In other words..he is the best choice for President.
Because a neocon got us into this spectacular war with Iraq that has brought nothing but prosperity and happiness to the US and the Middle East.
Chris,
At least try to think before you write something that blatantly stupid.
Let Rudy be judged by the election and the point made in this post is valid in that both parties are trying to pander to thier base while also leaving themselves openings during the general election to appeal to independents. So as a contradiction to the GOP party that Rove developed with the evangelicals it is quite hilarious to see Rudy try to hide his religion. Probably because Catholicism doesn’t handle affairs, divorces, and numerous marriages all that well.
I would think you’d be happy that Rudy’s trying to break away from the religious underpinnings of his party.
duffy,
i am happy I just take some joy that they have to do it all…
