Even more sobering…

This to me is better than that NYTimes article

I posted a comment that the NYTimes article seemed a bit over the top as far as the level of writing I would expect from enlisted folks. This guy brings it down to the level I think is a little more realistic.

  1. J says:

I agree with that soldiers take on things.

The underlying point is the Iraqi people don’t give a fuck about themselves.

We should have known, because the Iraqi people let a tyrant like Saddam be in charge for all those years instead of stoning him to death like Mussolini.

  2. Disbelief says:

Wait a minute J. Who let a tyrant be in charge all these years?

  3. donviti says:

    1 point Dis.

    spankity spank.

  4. J says:

“Who let a tyrant be in charge all these years?”

Sorry I forgot, it’s always us – mean the US.

First we let em, now we don’t, Man we just suck don’t we – mean the US.

I forgot the name of the blog, I should have known better, you’re right the people are never responsible.

  5. Von Cracker says:

Blaming the Iraqi people for their own oppression might be the most intellectually dishonest, horrible statement I’ve heard in about 3 days!

It’s kinda like blaming the VA Tech students for not rising-up and subduing the gunman. Who had the weapons, control of the military and secret police? And to Dis’ point: Who provided Saddam with those weapons and technologies used to suppress the Iraqi citizens?

Thinking like that wannabee superhero, Derbyshire, will only fuel the legitimate mocking of your position, J.

  6. donviti says:

A picture of Don Rumsfeild shaking the Hand of Saddam seems to be stuck in my mind.

  7. Von Cracker says:

I was thinging the same thing, DV.

And crickets churping as a response?

What needs to stop is the whole “the ememy of my ememy is my friend” bull.
