Comment Rescue: Stunning Revisionist History

Filed in National by on September 21, 2007

I don’t even know why I bother doing this but I think it serves a purpose to our readers to point out the level of stupidity some of our conservative commenters display.

I was going to try and put this into context but why bother.  If one person writes this, no doubt countless other imbeciles believe it:

Since when is there a Constitutional guarantee of privacy on communications. The government has many times in its history had the ability to open written communications (mail) and investigate things. Why would telephones be any different? If you are having a private conversation within the confines of your own house, then yes, you expect privacy. But phones today and always have, gone out over a network of interconnecting wires, and now satellites and even the Internet itself. What in that makes you believe you have a RIGHT to privacy?

stunning in and of itself, simply stunning.

Stuff like this makes them nearly impossible to parody.

  2. Disbelief says:

You wonder sometimes how thugs throughout history have been able to attract followers. How did Jim Jones get people to voluntarily drink poison? How did the spaceship guy get people to cut their own balls off? How does Bush get people to support him?

    And then you meet Chris.

  3. Dana Garrett says:

“How does Bush get people to support him?”

He gets them to yank their brains out.

  4. donviti says:

Larry Craig would be proud of that comment Dana

    heh-heh

  5. Disbelief says:

DV said “Craig” and “yank” in the same sentence. hehehehehehe.

I do not consider this hyperbole – I really do believe the 25%ers would carry Satan’s boiling water if the dark underlord wore a red tie and an american flag pin on his flaming lapel.

….btw, satan is a fictional boogey-man, while Osama is a real one. Boo! Now go piss your pants, GOP!

  7. cassandra m says:

The 25 percenters would certainly see the light if there is a Dem as President. Their talk-show handlers would make sure that they understood the affront to the Constitution that unlimited surveillance of US citizens represents.

  8. Disbelief says:

cassandra, you’re saying there’s someone out there with the ability to explain this to Chris?

Believe it when I see it.

  9. cassandra m says:

    No —
the 25 percenters have the views of their Team. No explanation or understanding is needed (or wanted, frankly). Just a willingness to go forth and spew whatever trash they hear on the radio that day.
