Which Jason will show up?
As a liberal, whenever I defend the Democratic party and argue that there is some virtue in maintaining party unity*, I get shit for it because there are some reactionary a-holes in the upper reaches of that organization.
But as a Democrat, whenever I bail on a Democratic candidate and argue that we need better candidates, I get shit for it providing de facto support for the Republican and lord knows that there are some reactionary a-holes in the upper reaches of that organization.
As this meeting with Joanne Christian moves closer to becoming reality, I’m really curious who is going to be proved correct.
Will it be the people who think I’m a Democratic party toady, or will it be the people who think I’m a witless tool of the GOP?
(* For the record, my exposure to Tom Carper and his utter lack of regard for party loyalty has cured me of most of my Pollyanna-ish views about Democrats sticking together. I figure, why should I be a loyal Democrat when he can’t bother to be one? Right?
So, if I end up endorsing Joanne Christian after our meeting – she will owe a big debt of gratitude to Senator Carper. Ironic eh?)

I’m not in the district but I would like to know if she is willing to go on the record as supporting the Open Government pledge made by the Republican caucus last year. Not just one or two bills, but the whole package. Seems Dave B. is running her as an open government supporter, but we need to hear the words from her.
As far as Carper goes, he is Lieberman South. In other words, I am momentarily grateful for him when the Senate majority hangs in the balance, but when the Senate is firmly in Dem hands, under the bus he goes.
Not to disappoint Dave, here’s my suggested interview question:
“What are you going to do after you lose?”
Jason,
Are you going to ask Bruce Ennis the same questions before you make an endorsement?
Lee –
I’ve spoken with Ennis and I will definitely speak to him again before I endorse anybody.
I’d like to learn more about what his specific goals in office would be, but as it stand now I know that he is not the good old boy caricature that Burris (and others) would like everyone to believe he is.
A key question. I know the Independent Party supports single payer health care without exception.
Does Mrs. Christian support single payer??
I got a Joanne Christian 3-color flier!!!
She says she’s a taxpayer like us! No shit! What a coincidence!
She wants to lower taxes! What a refreshing, original approach.
With these kind of messages, I can’t see how she can’t do as well as the rest of the State GOP.
Dis — Tell the people what the other side of the mailer said: that Ennis voted to raise taxes, fees and tolls.
