Wells Fargo Layoffs

Filed in Uncategorized by on October 25, 2007

hey look this economy is strong!

UPDATE:  there appears to be a few people looking at this post.   These layoffs came from the auto section of wells fargo where at least 200 people were let go in a division of 6000 or so.

shittiest way to get fired you ask?

I know for a fact that a person was called on his honeymoon yesterday and told he was being let go.

doesn’t get any better than that. Friedman would be proud.

I love how 500 layoffs in California is a big deal here, but 3000 layoffs (primarily in Delaware) at BofA can’t possibly be because of the Dems running this state.

  2. donviti says:

who said 3000 wasn’t a big deal rick?

and wellsfargo laid off people across the country not just california. Get your facts straight.

  3. Dana says:

I knew a guy who was laid off (not in this particular case) when he came back from vacation, and I knew people who lost their jobs (during the construction recession of 1991) the Friday before Christmas.

The person you knew was called on his honeymoon? As in the company dialed him up in Jamaica?

But, in the end, what can anyone who worked in the sub-prime mortgage industry expect?

  4. Chris says:

“Wells Fargo & Co. is eliminating more than 500 jobs in a division that makes home loans to high-risk borrowers,”

OH NO! TOTAL ECONOMIC COLLAPSE! If 500 people working in a division that makes subprime loans to high risk people lose their job, then the economy must have completely tanked!

Run for the hills! Run for the hills!

(P.S. As usual, your grasp of economy is….mind-boggling.)

  7. Andrew Card says:

First the came for the mortgage bankers and I was not a mortgage banker so I said nothing.

Then they came for the auto lending bankers and I was not an auto lending bankers….

Bottom feeding predatory lenders shutting down their boiler rooms is a good thing. (If you haven’t seen the Boiler Room, with Ed Norton, I highly recommend it – and I had a broker’s license myself.) It’s like one of those law firms that advertise on late night TV laying off ambulance chasers.
