- Medical Insurance » What do the Doctors think? | October 30, 2007
I went to some presentation on single-payer and there were several doctors there. They said they had to present bills up to five times to the insurance companies before they finally got paid. And it wasn’t just one company — they all stall payments. That’s why you’ve got 35%+ admin costs with insurance versus 5% admin cost with medicare. The same bill that gets paid the first time by medicare can take half a year of rebilling, tracking, rebilling, tracking, rebilling, tracking, rebilling, tracking, rebilling, tracking before the doctor sees his payment. Guess who gets to pay for all that rebilling and tracking!
doctors don’t know shit!
