I don’t have much on this yet, but it seems that a bill is in the works that could be introduced next session that would require our Congressional delegation to report back to Delawareans in person on a regular schedule.
The idea is to keep our elected representatives from ducking their responsibility to stand face to face with their constituents and explain their votes and how they feel those votes were in the best interest of their constituents.
This would be a bill that I’m sure would enjoy widespread bipartisan support.
It is kind of sad really that Mike Castle’s plans to dodge the electorate require this kind of legislative remedy – but there you have it. We can’t rely on Castle to simply do the right thing.
