  1. Dorian Gray says:

Sweet man! If you’d like to slosh some booze down your gullet pre-game with me and the Mrs. Gray, pass your mobile number to DV. Bourbon is my gameday choice.

If you feel uncomfortable giving any personal information to the Viti, I completely understand.

  2. smyrnadudette says:

It will be a great game – sorry DSU, Hens will ROCK!

  3. disbelief says:

I’ve already got ten on DSU against jason; if you want to spend another ten smyrnadudette, just let me know.

  4. anon. says:

dis, I don’t think DSU has seen the type of athelete (speed, strength, size) they are going to witness on Fri. Seriously, what makes you think DSU will win? Just curious.

  5. disbelief says:

I’m a sucker for the underdog.

  6. jason330 says:

DSU is seeded higher than Delaware.

  7. jason330 says:

I’m just hoping for a great game with lots of lead changes and a trombone player knocked down in the endzone following a last minute circus play comeback.

Is that too much to ask?

  8. jason330 says:

    DG –

I’m sending my cell number to DV at once. I’ll probably be hanging with my homie who is hooking me up most of the pregame, but I love meeting Delawareliberal commenters.

  9. disbelief says:

Don’t go tailgate during halftime. The DSU marching band rocks!

  10. disbelief says:

“DSU is seeded higher than Delaware.”

Our religious sect forbids belief in statistics. We believe that of those who have a sacriligious belief in numbers, 99% are doomed to eternity.

  11. Dorian Gray says:

And then we’ll fight! fight! fight! for Delaware,
Fight for the Blue and Gold,
And when we hit that line,
    Our team is there
    with a daring spirit bold
And when we strike with might
    Let foes beware
    Our glorious name we’ll uphold

And then we’ll fight! fight! fight! for Delaware,
Fight for the Blue and Gold,
    Delaware will shine to-night,
    Delaware will shine.
When the sun goes down and
    the moon comes up,
    Delaware will shine.

  12. disbelief says:

That’s because of the radioactive waste. Its more noticeable at night.

  13. Dorian Gray says:

    🙂

  14. smyrnadudette says:

Hey dis….you’re on…..now I’m not getting “cocky” (no pun intended), but I did win Jason’s book…..I do have a track record with predictions…..

Oh yeah, and by the way…Jason….if you do go out at the half…..they won’t let you back in….those stinkin tailgating regulations!

  15. jason330 says:

When my wife and I were first married we’d “second half” the games by mixing in with the returning half time tailgaters thereby saving about ten bucks.

  16. I am not going to pick sides but I will probably root for the underdog, whichever team that turns out to be! We will have to see how this plays out.

  17. When my wife and I were first married we’d “second half” the games by mixing in with the returning half time tailgaters thereby saving about ten bucks.

did you guys also show up at the Balloon at midnight and get in free 🙂

  18. ANNON II says:

DG et al…..hope it doesn’t turn into a drunken brawl with racial overtones. It could happen. We know how those rowdy futball fans fight to the death.

  19. G Rex says:

“…mixing in with the returning half time tailgaters thereby saving about ten bucks.”

Too bad those buzz-killing fascists have a no return policy now, just to keep people from half-timing.

  20. jason330 says:

    ANONNII,

I can honestly say that the thought never entered my mind. I’m looking forward to a great game that makes it impossible to not have it turn into a regular series.

  21. DG et al…..hope it doesn’t turn into a drunken brawl with racial overtones. It could happen. We know how those rowdy futball fans fight to the death.

sad to see such a dire outlook there, ANNON II

  22. doriangray says:

No way… absolutely no chance of racial problems. I’m a UD alum who thinks it’s disgraceful that these teams have never met. If there is even a sniff of it I’m leaving and I’ll never return to a UD sporting event… EVER!

Plus, remember, all UD undergrads got that good (mandatory) “diversity” training from Residence Life – so we’re good I think. 🙂

  23. Brian says:

Well, they say that freedom of thought and speech begins after university now. Looks like even then it is monitored by either the diversity police or by a warrantless wiretap, so after university don’t expect much. What is the point- just repeat after me….

“I am very happy and content under our high comrade and chairman…..I am very happy and prosperous under our high comrade and chairman…The party knows that 2+2=?”

  24. doriangray says:

What if they drilled into Winston Smith’s head that 2+2=4? I guess the method can be “Orwellian” even if the message is true.

  25. Brian says:

Exactly. The UD should encourage discussion and debate….differences are what make society healthy, collectivism does not, and political correctness is not helpful. We should learn to be adults and treat others as we would want to be treated. No false or phony sympathy, no phony “we only like..blah,blah,blah” elitism. To be liberal by definition means to have an open mind. Expose hypocrisy.

The biggest discriminators are the ones who are holding the conferences- that is the institution itself. Ask the President how often he goes to live with the poor in Wilmington, or how much time he volunteers in a soup kitchen….no, too busy for that at the B&G club where the honey roasted Tuna is just perfection….

But those folks are savvy they turn it around, confuse the students, blame the students when they cannot agree….and make up bullshit rules to make everyone feel warm and fuzzy.

Instead of bringing people together for a party or the nobel purpose of learning which part of this life is, and to learn to appreciate each other for being different. You learn nothing of the sort.

Only radical politically charged crap. If you encounter it tell them, we should all hate racism because we are all part of the human race.

The institution is the worst discriminator of all, very few college kids really are that bad…stupid probably, but in some way evil or bad, maybe a few, but not by and large.

Or you get some blowhard like David Horowitz and his crusader coalition which went to NYU this week to spread the love….a disturbing coalition that includes everyone from the ultra rightwing wackos to the MEK Islamic terrorists from Iran telling you what to think.

    I think not.

Neither of them are healthy for a republic, they are extremists of the worst kind.

    Think for yourself.

Read, study, learn, and think for yourself.

It is the institution that has in it the capacity for racism, but that is what is never addressed and it is exactly what needs to be addressed.

If 2+2=4 figure out why on your own and do not let someone tell you why.
