New Years crazed Rant

Filed in National by on January 1, 2008

I don’t care how crafty those bastards are that support bush there is no way in hell they are going to be able rewrite this history.   The one thing George Bush can’t hide from is the fact that he will be in office from a budget surplus to stunning nearly trillion dollar defecit.   He will have lead us right into a recession.

I can’t think of a more fitting example of why we need a change in politics more specifically our politicians.  From the decrepit bastard that runs this state and hides laws from ever seeing the light of day (and I do mean bastard!) to the bloviating wind bag that pushed through the MBNA bankruptcy bill.  To the disgusting excuse for a man that voted away habeus corpus.

I personally am praying that either Obama or Edwards is the next President, that We get rid of Mike Castle, Biden, Carper and change out the old gaurd in Delaware.  I’m tired of it, sick of it and want my government to work for me god damnit!  So should you.

You politicians reading this blog (and I know you do) better be on high alert.  We are well aware of the power of this site and I plan to use it.  It’s not going to happen much longer people this crap you politicians get away with.  From the idiot in Sharpley trying to change the grass clippings law that fills up the land fill to the Pro tem moron that shelves bills because he personally doesn’t like them.  You are going to be  exposed time and again.  We are a state of almost a million people, PEOPLE!  Wake the fuck up man.   This small state mentality has to fucking go and  the only way to get rid of it is to get rid of the small minded idiots running it.

We have a monster on our hands and it’s name is Delaware liberal people.  So walk along side us or get behind us while we clear a path and make Delaware a better place.  Delaware shouldn’t be known as tax free shopping god damnit!  it should be known as the first Smoke Free state.  The first state to have wind power!  The  first state to have a hybrid car plant!  The first state to have Gay Marriage.  The first state to require ingredients to be labeled on beer!  the first state to require $1 deposits on bottles!  The first state to recycle!  the possibilities are endless.

Instead we are stuck in some decade or year where we still think everything is finite.  That everything is fine.  That our politicians care about us, our health, our welfare.  Come on?  Do you really think they do anymore?  Our politicians are so fucking worried about themselves and serving corporate interests that we have become like every other state in the country.  Begging for companies to drop anchor in  our state.  Giving millions away in land to developers.  We, correction, They the politicians worship the ground that corporations walk on.

I’m tired and my mind is spinning out of control.  In short we need a change.  This blog is going to be the one marching to it’s own tune this year.  So I suggest those of you running for election/re-election wise the fuck up.  We are onto you, we will hold you accountable unlike the News Journal and you will need us to help you get elected…..

2008 is going to be a bang up year people.  The power of the Blog and specifically Delaware Liberal is untapped in this small state and this year we are going to make ourselves known!

Don’t forget People Mike Castle voted with Bush like 95% of the time.

    Good rant Don.

  2. Nancy Willing says:

Let’s send Karen Hartley-Nagle to Washington this year.
Biden is sure to be snatched up into the next administration one way or another to help get Iraq under control. That may well happen and we will see an appointment of whichever DEM loses the governorship (hopefully).
There is always the ultimate insult possible that should KHN take the House spot and Biden goes with an administrative position, DE leadership might appoint Castle to the Senate.
Should that be a campaign question for the gubernatorial candidates or what!
I hope that both parties are going contest each and every race going in the state so that voters have a choice vs the incumbent.

  3. I appreciate your rant and you are not alone in Delaware. I mentioned that to folks on WDEL today.

I support your desire for a hybrid car plant , statewide recycling, universal health insurance and wind power. I have said so on my site and in person.

It is certainly time for positive movement in Delaware on a host of thngs which are pushed aside way too often.

More of the same is unacceptable.

“The first state to require ingredients to be labeled on beer!”

(Seriously) I thought the legal definition of beer was a beverage that could only include four ingredients: Barley, malt, hops, and water. Maybe it’s urban legend but I always understood that if it had anything else you had to call it a “malt beverage” or something, kind of like “cheese food.”

  5. liberalgeek says:

I think that is a German law. So, German beer (at least in Germany) has to abide by it.

  6. Steve Newton says:

You’re right; I looked it up and realized that my memory of that law came from when I was stationed there back in the 80’s.

Of course, if we just enacted that, we wouldn’t have to worry about listing ingredients or the fact that AB uses genetically modified rice in Budweiser.

But since nobody actually drinks Bud any more does it matter?
