Jokes About Killing People Are Not Funny

Filed in National by on January 20, 2008

Not only are they not funny, I think they really undermine the whole blog thing. So – if you’d like to make jokes about killing people or groups please patronize other blogs.

    what was the joke?

  2. nemski says:

me thinks there is a troll about — such a troll he transcends party lines.

  3. feralkid says:

    I love liberal cowards.

  4. nemski says:

jason, just turn off comments for a bit

  5. jason330 says:

Please. I have few rules but not joking about killing people is one of them.

Play nice children or go away.

  6. Dana Garrett says:

Bravo, Jason, jokes about killing people are not funny. You are absolutely correct.

  7. jason330 says:

All this time and it was the first instance of having to lay down a black and white rule.

Maybe it will get worse as the election gets closer, but suspect it was just a bored HS kid trying to push too far for a laugh.

    Lord knows I’ve been there.

  8. But it would be nice to see the original joke…!

  9. jason330 says:

I’m not here to let ass wipes say, even jokingly, that liberals should be killed and sold for food.

There are plenty of sites available to anybody who wants to indulge in that kind of “humor.”

  10. Without context, I suppose I can’t laugh nearly as much as I would had I been given the chance to read it.

All that aside, the image of liberals roasting on a spit over a raging fire is quite intriguing. I guess it would depend upon the sauce being served for my mouth to water.

  11. jason330 says:

I’ll let you continue to comment here but watch it.

  12. Huh? Was that the joke someone made? If so, and you got all offended by such a cartoonish characterization of someone wishing death on another, then I’d say you need to get your sense of humor checked, because you’ve obviously left it at the door.

  13. jason330 says:

You run your blog as you see fit. As I mention in the post, I think there is something damaging to the idea of blogging if you let threats of violence and death in.

I think my sense of humor is in fine shape.

  14. nemski says:

I have some republican friends say we taste like chicken.

  15. anon says:

OK now that was funny. There is an art to morbid humor – it needs to recognizes its own absurdity in order to make it less of a threat and more of a joke.

  16. Whoever YOU want it to be says:

Jason….I’m w/you on this…keep up the ‘ban.’ Someone must set the standard(s).

  17. Blah…blah…blah.

In one ear and out the other. I still haven’t seen the original comment.

  18. disbelief says:

Jonathon Swift; you are hereby banned.

  19. Von Cracker says:

The only comment I came across was feralkid’s about selling liberals to N. Korea as food….

  20. Well someone or someTHING’s got to feed those poor people!

  21. David says:

Comedy is a timing thing as well.

South Park had a great joke (episode aired 10/25/06) about the death of Steve Irwin (d. 9/4/06) . . . was it too soon, you decide?

  22. feralkid says:

I suppose this wouldn’t be the time to discuss the album “Eat the Rich” or offer a review of “Sweeney Todd”…..

    😉

  23. Hube will be soooooo jealous when he sees that DE Lib is developing an arm as a premier cultural issues blog!

  24. G Rex says:

What about, “The first thing we do, let’s kill all the lawyers.”

    (From Henry VI, Wm. Shakespeare)

  25. anon says:

OK, so we need to defund opera, symphony, AND Shakespeare.
