Bush Presidency in a nutshell

Filed in Uncategorized by on January 28, 2008

Tonight’s State of the Union address by President Bush had its origins in a conversation between the president and his small crew of speechwriters in late spring or early summer last year

Planning for this year’s speech began in earnest in December, and by Christmas the speechwriting shop had an outline ready for Bush. While McGurn headed off with Bush to the Middle East in early January, Thiessen and Michel came up with a draft and sent it out to the president.

Does anyone else find the fact that they put so much effort in planning a speech a little bit sickening?  Maybe if this kind of effort was put into, gee, I don’t know anything else this country might have been better off?  All smoke and mirrors.  The fact that this guy was worried about his state of the Union in April of 2007 just shows you where his priorities are.

The good news is that he is going to use these speech to try and help the Republican;s running for President which means everything he says will hurt the Republicans running for President.

I don’t know I am surprised at how long it takes them to prepare this speech. Their “student” is not the brightest bulb in the drawer, and of course they need to get Dick Cheney out of his undisclosed location to tell them what to say…..
