Live Blogging the Michelle Obama event
I just got this email from the Obama campaign:
We just filled the 1,100 person auditorium at Delaware State University, and turned away about 200 people. So, for the two Delaware events, Michelle Obama spoke to 2,700 people. These are by far the two largest events that she has done during this campaign.
UPDATE II: I see a Mike Castle staffer. Grooving to the warm up music.
Someone just announced that they are trying to fit another seating area into the auditorium
UPDATE: Jason just sent me this quick note….
Music is up.
The vibe here is unreal. Everyone is totally pumped up. Just spoke
to some college students who will be voting in thief first election
who were ecstatic.
This couple (above) regards THIS candidacy the most important event of the past
75 years. “every man woman and child should feel the historic importance
of this election
Jason is keeping it real at the Michelle Obama visit in Dover today. He has captured a few of the visitors on film but my dumb ass can’t seem to upload their pics. Apparently he hasn’t told them they are going to be on the most popular site on the planet.
He has already spoken with a former Republican that converted when he heard Obama speak at the 1992 Convention. He also has been chatting it up with the Pres of College Democrats Phil Davis. I hope to have more details as they come in. It sounds like the event is going very well. Stay tuned for another update in about 45 minutes.

here is Phil Davis
here is the Republican Convert. His name is being withheld from fear of being retaliated against by the Tancredo Faction of the GOP

Anyone who attends the Dover event is in for a real treat. I attended the rally at the Grand, and Michelle Obama spoke w/o notes for close to an hour and held the audience spellbound. A very inspirational speaker. What a first couple Barack and Michelle would be!
Have a good time Jason.
I hear that touching the hem of her robe will heal a Republican.
I was at the Grand also. Doors were scheduled to open at 11:30. I got there at 11:30 and the Grand was already full. They weren’t letting anyone else in. They put us in the Baby Grand, which was going to have audio, but no visual. That was filled to capacity also. Luckily, I hung around at the back of the Baby Grand instead of sitting down, and finally at 12:05 someone came and said 7 of us could come into the Grand. Thank goodness. It was really an experience.
Her talk was an inspiration. I wish everyone could have heard it. If they did, they would know we have someone different here who can really change the attitude of the country and get us back to the values and dreams of our country that have been lost for so long. She said there was no room for cynics or fear in this campaign. Even this cynic believed it.
We have to make this happen, folks/
I’m back from Dover and it is odd to say but the two things I took away were inspriation and a strong sense of how normal and down to earth Michelle Obama is.
Maybe that adds to her ability to inspire. Her normalcy.
I’ll post at length later.
Hey, check out the rec-list of Daily Kos.

I didn’t get to meet Jason at DSU today, but I was at the Michelle Obama event with my 12-year-old twins.
I came away impressed with Michelle as an incredible speaker, but slightly less so with the campaign for a number of technical reasons.
For a full report, including my children’s reactions, visit Delaware Libertarian. Free plug for myself.
Thanks again to the DSU Young Democrats who worked incredibly hard behind the scenes to make this event happen.
Sorry I forgot to plug you guys. If I get a report together for this Sunday’s event, I’ll make sure to link here.
Great Job X Styker! Za Za ZOOOOOOOOM
I also saw Michelle Obama in Wilmington and thought she was an excellent speaker.
