Clinton Determined to Use Super Delegates to Steal Nomination

Filed in National by on February 15, 2008

But Celia Cohen says not to worry because our leaders are good and of pure of heart.

Hillary Clinton will take the Democratic nomination even if she does not win the popular vote, but persuades enough superdelegates to vote for her at the convention, her campaign advisers say.

The New York senator, who lost three primaries Tuesday night, now lags slightly behind her rival, Illinois Senator Barack Obama, in the delegate count. She is even further behind in “pledged’’ delegates, those assigned by virtue of primaries and caucuses. But Clinton will not concede the race to Obama if he wins a greater number of pledged delegates by the end of the primary season, and will count on the 796 elected officials and party bigwigs to put her over the top, if necessary, said Clinton’s communications director, Howard Wolfson.

I’m telling you Clinton would rather destroy the Democratic party than lose the nomination.

OK, I may be in the minority here, but I am optimistic about the superdelegates. They are a safety release.

If we get through this primary season and Obama is still short of delegates to win outright, they will do the right thing.

Consider this; we get through the June 7th Puerto Rico primary and Obama has a lead, but not enough. Now we get into July and suddenly Obama looks like he isn’t going to be competitive (a picture with a girl in his lap on a boat called Monkey Business, for example). Obama tanks. We have the ability to actually escape from his nomination as superdelegates defect to Hillary.

Obviously this works in the other direction also. But I predict that by the time we get to the convention, Obama will be running at 65% nationally and Hillary will be in the 40’s. She will give in and release all of her pledged superdelegates. And if she doesn’t, they will defect to Obama anyway.

    Good analysis Geek!

Meanwhile, grinding our beloved party under their heel is part of the Clinton tradition. Just saying.

You are not in the minority. The Super Delegates already committed to her are defecting to Obama. Obama has picked up 12 Super Delegates from Clinton since Feb. 5, including Rep. John Lewis, a civil rights hero.

Of the 796, only 300 have committed to either Clinton or Obama. The remaining 500 delegates are waiting to see who wins the most pledged delegates and who has momentum. If Obama has the most pledged delegates, and a string of wins, they will all go to him. Trust me.

I am not worried at all about Hillary stealing the nomination through Super Delegates. It simply will not happen.

Also, it looks like the John Lewis thing isn’t a done deal.

I look at the question of whether Hillary will successfully get MI and FL delegates seated as more determinative than the superdelegates.

It is a foregone conclusion that the Clintons will attempt to cinch the nomination by any means necessary; the only question is whether they will be able to pull it out at the last.

After all, these are the people who’s motto is, or ought to be: “It’s not evil if WE do it.”

If Hillary wins the nomination with super delegates my plan is to still vote against McCain and then spend the next four years sniping at her.

In other words, I plan to be a sore loser.

  8. nemski says:

    I like Pandora’s plan.

DD is right, they are defecting, she loses all around especially when she doesn’t out right win in Texas and the rest.

I thought the Israeli Army was going to steal the election, not Hillary? That’s what Liz Allen said, and she has satellite TV so she knows these things.

It doesn’t matter, though, because Obama is the Antichrist. It all makes perfect sense – millions are falling sway to his persuasive speaking, yet nobody can tell you what his actual positions are, but they agree with them totally. Hope! Change! A rain of fire from the Heavens!

(I gotta stop watching those Armageddon shows on History Channel!)

    Hillary’s last gambit – name a VP.

GREX as usual has lost his mind! Can you prove any of that nonsense. But lets do be clear. Not only is Obama and Clinton supporting Israel, and the next $30 billion going to them…so is McCain! GREX why don’t you take a look at satelite you might get more information than you ever thought! But of course you only listen to america corporate media…yup they tell you everything going on in the world…except the truth.

When the public learn that Hillary’s Health Care which is mandated, and in order to force compliance can garnish wages…that may throw a few votes to Bama…who has no mandate at all. Course in Delaware we can overlook both their petty for profit plans, and just support SB177….no garnishments, and everybody covered.

  13. nemski says:

    Okay . . . I’ll admit it . . . Barack Obama is my Lord and Savior.

  14. liberalgeek says:

My thinking is that the Bush admin is going to accidentally shoot down Liz’s satellite instead of the disabled spy satellite. It’s perfect.

  15. Rebecca says:

Oh my, I’m sorry Liz, but that’s funny.

Here’s yet another way that Hillary may be trying to steal some delegates:
