Corrected: Pete Schwarzkopf Totally Smacks Down Strine

Filed in National by on February 15, 2008

In what was perhaps the most compelling five minutes of radio that I’ve ever heard, Pete Schwarzkopf methodically, deliberately and brutally called out Terry Strine, Donna Stone, and Bob Valihura  for their efforts to kill legislation that seeks to protect the rights of manufactured housing residents.

The most searing comments were leveled directly at Terry Strine who is clearly using his position in government to enrich himself.

WDEL must post that audio.

It is like we have a generation of Republican legislators who think the purpose of government is to funnel money to their family members.

Just a clarification. Terry Spence has been working diligently to get these pieces to the floor I think you misunderstood Pete’s reference to Spence’s efforts. The Speaker took some heavy artillery fire from his own caucus. It was actually Spence who asked for the suspension of rules that was defeated and I know Pete will confirm that.
    Thanks,

Please confirm with Pete and if you agree remove Spence’s name from the list of obstructionist.
    Thanks

Thanks John. Pete did reference Spence’s efforts.

It’s not? Jason, I think you must be on the wrong side of this issue, i.e. your not getting paid.

Just wondering. Did Pete bother to mention DEMOCRATS John Viola and Gerry Brady, both of whom voted against suspending the rules to vote on a bill that no one had time to read?

You guys are a freakin’ riot. I’m just trying to come up with a proper response.

J – how about striking Spence altogether from that list instead of only the strikethrough line? His departure from the stereotype you mistakenly applied in this topic (as there are a mix of D and R on either side of this issue) probably warrants the same credit you feel is due to Pete (given your kudos to Pete).

Doesn’t Viola’s daughter have a job with the Senate Democrats?

Hmmmm…..Gerry Brady eh? That name is familiar but I haven’t heard it too much here in the 4th RD..in fact no one else I know has, either.

Please help us……the money cuts to the schools is terrible. We love our students and need your help. We feel so helpless…What are we to do? Please help us….

Jean: the legislation that would save your jobs and save our citizens health and save $8 million a day is SB 177, universal health care. 18 have already signed on, and while the State and its minions can only think of cutting every program, education, community group homes, and every other program they can slash, and burn. I want to know what the dimwits did with our “rainy day fund”? Why don’t they go after the slots and get more money! Sell their golf courses?
