BREAKING: MIKE CASTLE THINKS CHICKEN IS A GOOD IDEA, BUT “WE SHOULD GO FARTHER”

Washington, D.C. — Today Delaware Congressman Mike Castle voted for roasted chicken for dinner. While Rep. Castle had some concerns with what was not included in the final menu, he believes this meal will help take vital steps toward reducing the inevitable hunger that is created by toting large novelty checks up and down the state.

“My wife took a strong step toward securing a healthy, balanced meal,” Rep. Castle said. “Roasted chicken, while not as low in fat as a nice piece of fish, will help save me from having to eat a slice of pie around 11:00 tonight.” Rep. Castle praised his wife’s track record for preparing roasted chicken stating that past chickens prepared by his wife have been, “perfectly adequate for the occasion.”

“I am, however, disappointed that my wife has not thought through a full range of options for the side dishes. Frozen green beans and applesauce is unimaginative and could endanger the success of the entire meal.”

“My wife must not waste time in tackling the issue of side dishes. I support acting immediately to avoid the potentially lack luster dinner that leaves me wondering if my spouse spends her day watching soap operas in spite of her claims to the contrary.”

With regard to tonight’s meal Rep. Castle firmly stated, “Our work has just begun.”
