Ask Dr. Liberal

Dr. Liberal,
Isn’t this a bit much?

Dr. Liberal responds:
Thanks for the question. Very concise. To “one up” your brevity normally I’d simply say “no.”
But I think you might not be the only one with that question so I’ll elaborate.
First off, there is no gutter I could sink into that would be lower than the gutter Mike Castle jumped in when he supported George Bush. Castle knew Bush was a loser and a fraud and supported him anyway. Look what happened.
So, my feeling is that we could write about the most intimate aspects of Mike Castle’s sex life in the most lurid and pornographic terms and I could never be one tenth as obscene and pornographic as Mike Castle’s support for as Bush’s war that has claimed the lives of 85,000 Iraqi civilians.

Perhaps not, but with a weak self-justification like that you won’t win many friends outside your choir. If you want people to excuse it, at least make it funny.
Dear Dr. Liberal,
I have a daughter who is starting to notice boys. Just yesterday, she was telling me about “Cody”, who is in one of her classes. My daughter is 4.
My question for you is: is it possible to Mike Castle to have sex at all, assuming that he is as impotent as his legislation?
Signed,

Al –
Your comment is based on the false premise that there is a level of decorum that, if I could only get there, would make the blog more influential. I reject that premise.
There are enough editorialists and news readers abiding by those rules of decorum which include never talking about Castle’s sex life or his support for Bush.
What does the world need with one more?
I have no idea about your influence and how or whether to extend it. IMO, Castle’s support for Bush is certainly fair game. I don’t understand why his sex life is. To me, it takes away from the message, which is that he voted to support Bush.

Good to know since you have a very popular radio show – and it is an election year.
Re Castle’s Sex life: I have to hand it to you, you sure sniffed out a weak self-justification, but after three years I’m getting a little tired of beating the “nobody covers the disconnect between Castle’s statements and his votes” drum.
I thought a satirical press release talking about the minutia of his day to day life would be a funny way to take another run at it.
If you’ve read any of those press releases they are incredibly vapid, wishy-washy and lifeless.
Also – I will endevour to make my weak self-justifications funnier in the future.
keep singing Jason I’m in your choir…..
Dr. Liberal rocks!
Dear Dr. Liberal your last post gave me a hard on. Is that normal?
Normal is relative. You were not thinking about parrots while reading were you?
Holy Shit dude. You read minds too?
If you weren’t over-the-top you wouldn’t be Dr. Liberal. There is a certain tintillation every time I visit to see how you will shock me today. So far you haven’t made me faint, although I have no doubt you could if you put your mind to it. But I am not in the democraphic of your core audience and it seems to me that you are playing to them very well. In my book anything that engages the younger set is a good thing. We old f–ts have truly cocked things up.
Dear Dr.Liberal,
I see no more substance in your posts than I read or hear in the Delaware media. I think this sort of mundane coverage is what we’ve come to expect from the press and talk radio. You’ve made your point extremely well.
Al, you say Castle’s support of Bush is fair game. When’s the next event and where can I buy tickets?
“We old f–ts have truly cocked things up.”
I find it hilarious that you censored “fart” but not “cocked”!
“If you’ve read any of those press releases they are incredibly vapid, wishy-washy and lifeless.”
I’ve been reading them — not just Castle’s, everybody’s — for 30 years. His are no better or worse than the others.
I thought after Bill Clinton and Monica that sex was not an issue?
Obscenity is in the eye of the beholder. A f–t is a smelly bodily function, whereas, never mind.
