WGMD’s Maria Evans Was Another Eye Witness To Copeland and McDowell’s Mafeasance
Copeland, McDowell and Deluca are criminals because they are put their client’s private gain above the general welfare of the state by openly working for Delmarva Power. However, in the scheme of things they are just the flunky front men and water carriers for the slimy lowlifes described by Maria in her excellent post: Never Have So Few Done So Much To Thwart The Will Of So Many
The lawyer’s name is Randall Speck, he’s a Harvard Law School graduate, and according to sources at Legislative Hall, he’s worked on “all sides” of the energy debate. My immediate thought was, “What side is he on today?”
That question was clearly answered by the smiles shooting around the chamber between energy company representatives as Speck questioned the Public Service Commission about their decision to choose a wind farm with a gas plant back up as the new, price stable, energy source for the State. I’m sure after the hearing there was a room somewhere in Dover filled with energy company employees desperately trying to muster up the coordination to successfully execute a few high-fives.
Meanwhile: More silence from one time Wind Power advocate Dave Burris.
This is crazy. Maybe we should have a full court press to ask these Senators why they needed a hired gun to ask questions of a state agency doing its job? And ask them how much of their pay they will be returning to the state to cover this guy’s costs?
Or even better — fund a radio commercial to ask the question directly…..
Waaahhh!!! Waaaahhh!!!
You have no idea how much I am enjoying listening to you whine.
This should be on ESPN.
A name that has not surfaced much during the Bluewater Wind fiasco, but should, is that of former Democratic State Party Chair, self-promoter, anti-tax talking-head, pocket-liner, and Delmarva lobbyist, Joe Farley.
Farley basically had a chair permanently reserved in Sen. McDowell’s office during the energy dereg negotiations, and his feral features are seen regularly in Leg Hall. Farley is a Democrat of convenience, strongarming legislators to use his printing company while railing against Democratic initiatives and, especially, against taxes on the well-to-do, on Channel 12. Eleanor Craig must love him.
Somehow, I doubt that Farley feels that the $35K used by McDowell to bring in a hired gun is wasteful spending.
Even by traditional legislative standards, the stench from this one makes Pigeon Point smell like the Philly Flower Show.
AGREED! great comment Steve. I will rescue it immediately~!
Wasn’t Joe Farley installed by Mr. Carper as Chairman back in the day
Almost all things evil in Delaware businesss-as-usual track back to Tom Carper. Seriously.
I hope not. I like him. What is he doing and what is the problem? Is it a DLC thing or a Carper thing?
