ATHF (Around The Horn Friday for you newbies)
I’ve always said that Sunday is a good day to read what you should have read on Firday.
Spot the TS Eliot allusion in Duffy’s post and win $10 DelawareLiberal bucks! (No cash value. Offer not valid in Alaska, North Dakota, or Guam.)
Is Duffy alluding to Eliot? or has Duffy perhaps closed down a few pubs in the UK and heard it there? Or both A and B?
For extra credit I also found a quote from former Congressman Mark Foley: “Bottoms up, lad.”
Actually there are three references that could relate to T. S. Eliot’s Wasteland.
Three.
Can you name all three?
Answers for two of them are buried in the ATH’x comments. I almost posted the third, but didn’t.
Actually, forget stopping at three. Within the “Wasteland” itself, there are many more if you have a vivid imagination.

Kavips, you are a jewel. A diamond among us.
