Prediction: DE GOP To Get Annihilated In November

1) McCain polls 41% against EITHER Obama or Clinton in Delaware. Link

2) The DE GOP still has no candidate for Governor (that they like).

3) The DE GOP is begging for down ticket candidates to step up.

Basically, all signs point to a huge Democratic wave here in Delaware. I’m beginning to think that candidates like Rebecca Walker in the 9th stand a real chance.

Now then, if the Republicans keep voting for Thurman Adams to be the president pro tem of the Senate, the beneficial effects of a Democratic wave will be muted – but that is material for another post.

Bonus Prediction: The bedraggled remnants of the DE GOP will, at long last, begin to blame Mike Castle and George Bush for their horrible misfortune.

This is our America today….which Castle Supports

Detainee began to cry. Visibly shaken. Very emotional. Detainee cried. Disturbed. Detainee began to cry. Detainee bit the IV tube completely in two. Started moaning. Uncomfortable. Moaning. Began crying hard spontaneously. Crying and praying. Very agitated. Yelled. Agitated and violent. Detainee spat. Detainee proclaimed his innocence. Whining. Dizzy. Forgetting things. Angry. Upset. Yelled for Jesus …

Urinated on himself. Began to cry. Asked God for forgiveness. Cried. Cried. Became violent. Began to cry. Broke down and cried. Began to pray and openly cried. Cried out to Jesus several times. Trembled uncontrollably.

f’ing disgusting. And we impeached Clinton over perjury about sex.

Maryanne McGonegal

We will carry on without Maryanne. We will in part because she showed us how over decades, day after day, in battle after battle, regardless of the entrenched interests and traditions of ignorance arrayed against the people’s interest. She knew many losses but in the alchemy of her compassion they became the incentive to keep on, to never relent. And so did her victories.

Question of the day

If someone in the public sphere, be it a journalist, talking head, politician or someone that is able to influence public opinion espouces an opinion that is patently wrong, should they not be allowed to be told that their opinion is wrong?

and

If I have an opinion that is wrong should I be allowed to continue to have that opinion?

Do This Today

Mike Matthews (from Down With Absolutes) has posted his excellent writeup on the utterly industry-funded candidate for Insurance Commissioner, Gene Reed over at his blog at Delawareonline. His blog entry is currently on the front page of the WNJ’s website.

Forget that the new version of delawareonline.com is a perfect mess (it simply won’t work with my Firefox configuration at work) — go over there and hit the Recommend button (at the end of the post) so that it stays on the website front page like the real news that it is.

(h/t to Disbelief — this is what you were pointing at, right?)
