Prediction: DE GOP To Get Annihilated In November

Filed in National by on April 7, 2008

1) McCain polls 41% against EITHER Obama or Clinton in Delaware. Link

2) The DE GOP still has no candidate for Governor (that they like).

3) The DE GOP is begging for down ticket candidates to step up.

Basically, all signs point to a huge Democratic wave here in Delaware. I’m beginning to think that candidates like Rebecca Walker in the 9th stand a real chance.

Now then, if the Republicans keep voting for Thurman Adams to be the president pro tem of the Senate, the beneficial effects of a Democratic wave will be muted – but that is material for another post.

Bonus Prediction: The bedraggled remnants of the DE GOP will, at long last, begin to blame Mike Castle and George Bush for their horrible misfortune.

Oh, Jason. I like you man, but you know where I stand on one particular comment in that.

I’ve said that Cathcart is stepping up on Wind Power and that is great.

The question is can he (and other downticket R’s in 50/50 districts) withstand a huge Dem wave in which people come out to vote who have never voted befor?

  3. DEMs are going to help John Brady take a statewide ticket by the looks of things. (wishful thinking, I know)

From X Stryker’s article — this is the most perfect abstract of the BushCo presidency, ever:

“No individual president can compare to the second Bush,” wrote one. “Glib, contemptuous, ignorant, incurious, a dupe of anyone who humors his deluded belief in his heroic self, he has bankrupted the country with his disastrous war and his tax breaks for the rich, trampled on the Bill of Rights, appointed foxes in every henhouse, compounded the terrorist threat, turned a blind eye to torture and corruption and a looming ecological disaster, and squandered the rest of the world’s goodwill. In short, no other president’s faults have had so deleterious an effect on not only the country but the world at large.”

The Reps should recruit Ted Blunt. Afterall, he was a Rep until his maniputating self discovered he couldn’t get elected in Wilm unless he was registered Dem.

Remember that when you go to the polls….if you vote for him you are voting for a Rep.

    Cassandra –

That is an excellent quote. It gives me a headache to think that Mike Castle chaired Bush’s campaign here is Delaware TWICE and Delaware and still says that he does nto regret working for him.

    Birdie –

I don’t think anyone around here is very worried about Blunt.

I see your point, J, and I saw and felt it in 06. There is a tide coming in and I am well aware. You just happen to know where I stand, especially on the blind-faith-straight-ticket mentality approach. That’s kind of where I intended to go, but your response is an accurate assessment as well. No easy rides in 08 and I pity the fool (h/t Mr. T) who thinks there is.
