Call Your Legislator Today To Support Wind Power!

Filed in National by on April 10, 2008

Today, a small group of state senators unilaterally declared the Blue Water Wind Power deal dead.

It is important that you call your legislator today to register your support for wind power.

If your rep is a Republican call: (302) 744-4171

If your rep is a Democrat call: (302) 744-4351

You’ll probably get voice mail, so solitely leave a message saying that you don’t want a small group of State Senators to kill the Blue Water Wind Power Deal.

You might add that the deal…

*has been approved by the PSC, and

*will bring high paying jobs to the state.

Email this post to three friends and let’s set a goal of getting 100 phone calls today.

I would like it if someone could send them this report to explain the gravity of the matter and how important it is for Delaware to take the first step to ensure we prosper and are innovative now at this time in history so we can continue to prosper and have success into the coming century. Otherwise, it is like I said, we are really screwed.

These are some uncomfortable positions and issues discussed; some of them have caused much controversy. Still it is a correct assessment. And it illustrates what we can contribute to sustainability and to the world and exactly what we stand to lose.

This was recommended to me by a friend at MIT some time ago, and I have had time to go over all the figures and this is correct. And I expanded it and found more figures that are equally and sometimes even more disturbing from a resource/energy/commodity perspective. Now if someone in the legislature wants to discuss this scientifically, please have them call me or e-mail me I would be happy to discuss the problems it poses and why I want Delaware to take real steps this way so that we can save our skins.

It is a long report, but well worth a read. It may scare you, but in the end, Simmons’ assessment is the right one.

    Called.

  4. anon says:

If the senators are killing it why are we calling reps? I better go read Tommywonk…

  5. TommyWonk says:

We’re calling reps because HCR 38 is in the House, and may come up for a vote today, if the GOP caucus lets it run.

  6. anonomous says:

If the state GOP had any brains they would back this project on jobs and national security and ram it down the Dems throats. I imagine BWW will end up suing the state and winning.

Called and emailed (for the umpteenth time). Also passed on to 5 friends.

  8. liberalgeek says:

    I called also.

  9. FSP says:

Stop calling reps. The resolution will pass today. Although I’m told there was an amendment offered to include the state in the deal as a power purchaser and the Dems voted no. Anybody know what that’s about?

  10. FSP says:

The resolution passed the House 25-11.

  11. Jason O'Neill says:

Quite a few Dems who voted no. Anyone who voted no on this resolution, should be run out of office in November.

Kudos to House GOP who voted YES on this.

  12. TommyWonk says:

House Amendment 1 to HCR 38 reads in part, “it is desirable that all State government buildings be included in the power purchase agreement” but doesn’t carry any force.

    I’ll have more tomorrow.

  13. Stop calling reps. The resolution will pass today. Although I’m told there was an amendment offered to include the state in the deal as a power purchaser and the Dems voted no

no don’t stop calling they need to know regardless of what the outcome is already. The more people calling them, the more people know who they are
