Claim That Wind Power is Dead Creates Controversy

As the result of Pat Gearity doing some digging and with the help of some excellent blogging by Dana Garrett here – Dave Burris throw away claim that….

“A week ago, one prominent Delawarean told me that the project was dead, the deal had been cut, that all of the players, including Senate leadership and the Governor candidates, were involved. It was over. DP&L was one of the good old boys and BWW was not and that was it.”

Is getting some well deserved scrutiny.

My question to Dave is “Who is that prominent Delawarean?”

My guess is that it is Charlie Copeland. Copeland has been trying to play both sides of the street on this for a while and he was the first State Senator to go public with McDowell’s “leaked” report which he claimed to be a deal breaker. Clearly Copeland is on the Pepco team. However, he might have just overplayed his hand judgeing from the heated reaction that his claim has generated.
