Mike Castle Considers New Conjunction for House Race Against Karen Hartley-Nagle
Mike Castle has confirmed that he is considering a significant linguistic change to highlight his reputation as a “maverick” and attempt to close the “vitality” gap between himself and his challenger in the upcoming house race.
“‘However’ has been great to me and I’m going to miss it, however, it is time to move on.” said Castle inadvertently underscoring how difficult the change would be for him. “It is a word that has seen me through good times and bad and allowed me to be on every side of every big issue that has come up over the past 35 years. When it comes to conjunctions, ‘However’ is a superstar in my book.”
But even superstars retire and Congressman Castle’s handlers feel that “however” has no place in Castle’s 2008 campaign.
“There are a whole bunch of words out there that can allow the Congressman to equivocate and waffle, and many of those words have been proven to resonate with a younger demographic that is eager for change.” said Castle’s Chief of Staff Mike Quaranta.
Words under consideration include; But, Although, While, Nevertheless, Nonetheless, and the dark horse – Conversely.
