Will PA even matter?

Filed in Uncategorized by on April 22, 2008

Okay, if Obama wins the primary is over. Having said that I have trouble envisioning another game-ending scenario. Having lived through Iowa, Super Tuesday, the Chesapeake Primary, etc, I have no reason to believe that today will be any different.

What I do know is that if Hillary wins – like I think she will – PA will be the most important state in the union! North Carolina and Oregon… not so much since they aren’t ‘big” states, “swing” states, “true Dem” states, (insert your own HRC excuse here)… Or steal Bill’s excuse.

However, I have an even more important question. What is an acceptable time to begin drinking today? I’m thinking noonish.

  1. Shite sister. After reading about Bill Clinton humping the GOP again, I may crack that cold Becks in the fridge right now.

I’m holding off until liveblogging at 8.

What time of day did HRC start knocking back shots & beers with the PA athletic supporters?

    Oh, please say noon!

Hmmm. We have a bottle of Grey Goose in the freezer here at work and some blue cheese stuffed olives in the fridge.

    I’m voting for noon.

If Obama can’t win PA today he won’t be able to rack it up in November this will be the worst problem we shall face in the fall. We all know by now that all those red states that he won in caucus races won’t turn blue in the fall along with Iowa and Mississippi and south Carolina

  7. Pandora says:

I’m so over that argument. And let’s face it, solid blue states will stay blue in November. I’m also sick of Ohio and FL being called swing states. Ohio has consistently voted against its self-interest, and FL grows more monied red by the day.

In the general Obama loses… how??? By Dems voting for McCain? Hillary faces the same problem, and her negatives are much higher. Both candidates have their problems. Obama, however, is re-drawing the map that hasn’t worked for Dems, and I like it.

  8. Truth Teller says:

If he can’t win Pennsylvania, Ohio,Michigan and Florida he can’t win because Mississippi, South Carolina, Iowa and all those western states including Texas and Oklahoma will stay red

  9. Pandora says:

Obama was never going to win PA. Keep spinning. A Dem will win in Nov. if Dems stick together.

And Hillary’s negatives are frightening – can they get any higher? How are you gonna deal with them?

If HRC is your candidate it’s time to take off your rose-colored glasses. Obama has a problem with race. That’s a given, and I accept it. Hillary has a problem with gender and that’s she’s a Clinton. I’m not saying that’s fair… but it’s real.

Lets see, at the Rodney Square Obama rally I stood next to Jan Ting and his wife. This morning David and Julie Eisenhower went to the polls in PA and voted for Obama. Now remember, those votes in November count twice because they are for Obama and not for McSame.

On the other hand, if Clinton gets the nomination every screaming right-wing nut will crawl to the polls to vote against her. She will be the greatest Republican GOTV tool ever. I just don’t see how she is more electable.

It appears that the Obama lovers are wearing the rose colored glasses Just look at how quite Charlie Black and Karl Rove are today you don’t think that they are struck speechless by the Obama aura. No they know what his weakness is and that his over reaction to mild digs from Hillary that keep him off message. When those two get finished with their definding of him we will all be singing hail to the Chief to a senile old man

Clinton is broke! If she doesn’t win BIG in Pa…its over for her. She will not be able to go back to her supportes for more bucks…Bill is at the bank right now…drawing out some of that $109 million because she is not going to stop until she has destroyed Obama’s chances in Nov. Someone said to me, even if Obama wins the nomination, and the election, look at the mess he will be handed….he will end up being blamed for the republican’s worst blunder in American history…there wont be a dime to do anything except cut cut cut!

  13. Truth Teller says:

Isn’t it a shame that all this depends on who has the most money. However, come to think of it he out spent her 4 to one in Pennsylvania and that didn’t seem to sway the voters and maybe just maybe it proves
that those Religious gun lovers are smarter than the rest of us.
